I am wondering, should I just break down and buy my little prayer rug now? Maybe I should make my pilgrimage now whle fares are low and we actually still have the technology to fly.

They didn't read the Rosary during Lent or have a Cantor sing during Yom Kippur?

Thanks for the ping. I have Freeped them:
"I heard about KFWB broadcasting a Muslim "call to prayer" and all of your rhetoric about how Islam is a tolerant and "peaceful religion". It is not. It is an intolerant religion bent on conversion of the "infidel" or their death by the sword (their sword). You are wrong and to be condemned! Stop patronizing the religion of Satan."

From the rooftops I will condemn evil done by fellow Catholics. I will respect the believers of this religion when they do the same. There are no officials of my church anywhere who will tell us from the pulpit that we will go to heaven if we kill innocent adults and children.

This is so sickening...not here in America.
This is where thousands came to escape the evils of Islam and now it's on the airwaves...

I think KNX 1070 (Los Angeles) does this also. At least they have in years past.

It's a free country, and they are entitled to broadcast religious calls to prayer if they want to. I'll write to the management to thank them for their programming, and will tell them to ignore the bleatings of knuckle-dragging bigots.

While I don't enjoy turning on my radio and hearing the Muslim call to prayer, the last I checked this was still a free and pluralistic society founded in part on the notion of religious freedom.
In Istanbul and Riyadh, a desperate Al Queda has turned to blowing up Muslims and further alienating themselves from the moderate adherents to Islam. We only help Al Queda when we display hate and intolerance toward the Muslim faith and its adherents without discriminating between those who are our allies (or potential allies) and those who are not.
While it may make some of you feel good, it is stupid and counter-productive in the War against Terror.
