They hit with RPGs we respond with tanks and Apache helicopters. We're lucky there's no general uprising. The present level of violence will run it's course. I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about the outcome. I believe we can master the situation at least adequately.

I believe (as a person just mentioned) it is a special holiday at the end of Ramadan, and I *think* Muslims give presents then. That could be not good.

There's a certain hint of a Mardi Gras-ish nature to Eid, being the end to a lot of fasting and such, not that people are getting plastered on alcohol and throwing beads to women to get them to flash their breasts or anything.

There still is no particular pattern to AQ terror attacks or the Iraq insurgency that would indicate that Ramadan in any way is some especially particular focus of a time to attack, as much as people want there to be.

I am glad you are optimistic about this. I do believe we will win in the end. But from where I am sitting and watching on a daily basis, this is far from being over. I think that Iraq is the stage for now. And I am watching these islamic scum of the earth terrorist's threats become reality even before 9/11. Was'nt it just yesterday morning the 2nd car bomb in Istanbul. How many were killed, how many were injured? How many more countries was threatened for aiding us, Kuwait, Australia, Japan, etc. I just don't underestimate or take these monsters lightly.
