Twisting her neck wouldn't leave a mark....but, I did read there were bruises around her neck, and that her neck was rigid.

"In last night's interview, Schiavo addressed the strangulation testimony by asking why her neck was not bruised and her trachea damaged."
Michael Schiavo assumes "the hands on approach," when that is not required.

In addition, a "rigid neck" that is considered in Terri's case, as a sign of "strangulation," can instead be caused by various other methods of attempting to cut off a person's airways.

For example, a hypothetical couple "having a domestic dispute" ---

A husband "getting carried away" during their argument(s) into the night and early morning hours, enough to "forget himself" ...
He, a large heavy man, sits quickly on the upper back of his relatively smaller, lighter wife, who herself had been sitting on the floor and bent over some, exhausted and crying.

He forces her to the floor face down and causes her to hyperextend her neck as she struggles to raise her head, break free, and get air --- there is a dislocation of certain areas of her neck's connective tissues, the resulting strains and pinching of nerves leading to a severely "rigid neck."

With the immediate presence of his body heat in addition to her diminishing oxygen supply, she goes into shock.

She is forced into unconciousness; then some minutes more pass, of insufficient oxygen (not necessarily a denial of all blood) flow to her brain; her heart beat might be undetectable.

Things go from bad to worse with the time that the husband remains upon her.

The husband regains some semblance of reason and senses her change of state, as well as what may befall him. He gets himself off of her, paces around, then he returns to her and checks, but cannot detect, her pulse ... he calls for help.

Her injuries would be revealed, over a year later in bone scans of the head, neck, torso, and lower body. Her injuries include a compression fracture of the wife's L1 vertebra, which literally plays a pivotal role in support of the upper back.

No heart attack.

Just trauma to tell the tale, in her bones.

It is just mind boggling to me that all the questions that seemingly should have been asked in this case haven't been. The obvious has been swept under the rug repeatedly via JG.

I have often wondered if MS had any buddies on the police dept., but that would probably be hard to find out and even more difficult to prove that it influenced the "investigation"

I think the bruises ON her neck may have been a misreport or a confusion of the father's statement that her arms were reaching to her throat. It doesn't seem to be justified by either the policeman's informal exam or the ER report. (Or am I missing something? If somebody knows better, point me to the data.)

The stiff neck, however, is very much consistent with attempted strangulation, and that one got a good forensic physician's authentication.

We're probably missing lots of information, since all the medical records have been sealed, including the ambulance records, by the HINO's orders....

Ah, thanks, I was looking half a dozen posts earlier in the thread. This scenario isn't far from the one that struck my mind, given the known evidence.

Stripped to essentials, she was murderously attacked, grievously wounded and faces execution for spending $80 to get her hair done.

And if Terri had a 'potassium imbalance' why the sudden rush by Felos to have the bone scan 'disallowed'(lack of better terminology at the moment).

Thanks for finding/posting. First article, re McDonalds....okay, it doesn't state he only worked there...and it doesn't state he worked there at the time of Terri's "collapse." Let's see if that's one avenue we can find out information....(don't know how, but I think if it's possible to see what he said and if it's consistent with what's on the police report).

Second, in that article, it says this:

"They were trying to have a baby. She was having dizzy spells. If somebody had just taken a blood test, they would have seen she was having problems. Scott Schiavo disputes the Schindlers' claims that Terri and Michael were having problems. But, he said, the couple had been arguing all day on Feb. 25, 1990. Terri collapsed that night.

MS did not tell the police that Terri was having "dizzy spells." Why not? Because this was invented, later. MS also said they had not had any major arguments lately. Why not? Is not "arguing all day" on the day she "collapsed" having a major argument?

Also, Bob related, "it's in the medical record that when Terri was brought into the hospital she had bruises around her neck." Doctors for the Schindlers have testified that those bruises were consistent with manual strangulation. Furthermore, skull x-rays and head CT scans done about a year after her injury indicated fractures to the occipital region which have never been explained. These fractures are consistent with trauma to the head."

WOW this is new news to me!! I cannot for the life of me figure out WHY,if it is in the RECORD that he was not questioned more thoroughly!!! This case is getting more and more bizzare as the day goes on.....

WOW this is new news to me!!

I thought I was the only one who missed this.....it was news to me, too, only insofar as it being stated as such. The bone scan does say "closed head injury." But I didn't see anything on that report stating anything about the head trauma itself....
