I listened to Rush today and did not hear a shaky voice at all. He sounded just like he always did and I loved his closing comment about telling liberals to watch out because he's back. Welcome back, Rush, you were sorely missed in this household!

Rush could not be more wrong about the President. He is not trying to make the dems like him. He is trying to do what he can for the country and sometimes that means compromising to get something accomplished.

President Bush does not concern himself with whether dems or anyone else likes him, he worries about doing the right thing, no matter what!

With all due respect to Rush, his experience with addiction and rehab does not make him an expert on the inner core of our President.

Oh yes you can. People do it all the time becasue the addict starts cutting their beloved out of their life. And raging at them, and disappearing, physically and/or emotionally. One does not have to be co-dependant or an enabler to be caught in an addicts web. I work in the business.

More important, for Rush's own sake, there are ego traps in going too public with recovery. Recall the Big Book on grandiosity

I am not familiar with this, not having been through a recovery program. But I was a cigarette junkie for a donzen years. When I quit (it's been almost 6 years now), I didn't tell anyone I was quitting. If someone noticed--and it's amazing how long it took people to notice--I admitted it. But I didn't talk about it. In fact, when people announce "I am quitting smoking tomorrow" or "I quit yesterday", I usually think they will fail. I think it is trying to get rewards (attention, positive feedback) before you have actually accomplished anything. Is that what the grandiosity/ego trap thing is about?

any 12 step program teaches that you wait at least 6 months, if not more, before entering into a relationship...Rush's "relationship is with his listeners...

That advice applies to new relationships, and the length of time reccomended is one year. You are also encouraged not to terminate any existing relationships until you have a year. It would not make sense to go through rehab and then divorce your wife or quit your job (unless of course you are married to a drug dealer or work as a bartender).
