I would like to see the names of those 12, if there are that many.

It was Santorum who said it was 12. I don't imagine he'd lie about it. :(

Ever notice that the Hawiian Senator Akaka never ever did anything in his entire Senatorial career?

Well, that is exactly the right way, but that site won't let "us" see it.........wonder why? It says ACCESS DENIED; is that a site you have to be a member of?

But that is the right way!

Just like this:

I sent her an E-mail ask how she(Landriu) could be a both a catholic and Pro-abortion.

IF you get a response it will probably state in so many words that she can SEPARATE her true feelings from the CONSTITUTIONAL right for a woman to have an abortion. Which of course is EXACTLY what she and the rest of the GIMMIES state is SOMETHING that the nominated Circuit Judges CAN NOT POSSIBLY DO!!

Figure the 2 from Maine, Chafee and Specter. Don't know who the other 8 are....maybe McCain is one. Heck, Lott might even be one.

McLame is one who opposes the nuclear option.

I don't know. Going "nuclear" is just as bad in the long term, I think.

I'm numb from dissappointment. I've gotta think about this one for a little while.

Rumor has it some of the 12 are very conservative, and they value a Senate environment where precedent is respected and brute force is not necessary to "do the right thing." I tend to agree with that. Micromanaging with rules is stifling to progress.

Byrd is one. He wants to assert his KKK priviledge if any more civil rights bills come up.

I'll take you one further. It's more than depressing. IMHO, it's treason. These 12 Republicans are letting the minority party usurp the power granted to the majority by the very same document they are supposed to support and defend.

I would like to see the names of those 12, if there are that many.

Santorum was on Hannity's radio show yesterday and said there were 12 pubbies that wouldn't vote for the rule change ... but he couldn't give their names

We may be winning elections, but we are losing issues.

Parental Notification
The Pledge of Allegiance
School Vouchers
Partial Birth Abortion Ban
and on and on and on and on.

We only need 4 dems in the Senate and this precedent will be used over & over & over & over again.

Why is it bad in the long term?

What the Dems are doing is absolutely unprecedented in our History.

Going nuclear essentially preserves the previous status quo. The Dems are the ones entering new territory, and going "nuclear" would end it.

How long has Santorum been in the Senate? I think it might be telling that at least 2 of our guys who have hit this hard are relatively new (Graham and Coleman). They still think they can change things. I wish they were right.
