Strom Thurmond was not a Republican in 1957. An intentional distortion, one would suppose.

The operators are refusing to put anyone through to the clocakroom; Dashole does not answe his phone; Frists' office voice mail says his mailbox is full. I recalled the 800 number and asked to speak to a person in charge and was advised that NO futher calls are being taken. I'm disappointed in that. Saxby is up now, he is such a good speaker.

Not to bring you down or anything, but I hear Al Franken is thinking of running in MN.

Chanbliss raised a good laugh when he said his life would not like it if he were only 98% faithful.
Lots of other 98% thoughts. Boxer's idea doesn't hold water.

That's not very honest. Let's not do things like that.

Well .. I don't agree the dems are more battle worthy .. not by a long shot.
People seem to feel that the repubs must act and speak the way the dems do in order to be equal .. not so! We are better than they are. We are more disciplined .. we are more courteous .. we are more gracious .. we are more respectful. I don't want to be like them in way, shape or form. They're crass, they lie, cheat, obstruct, destroy and just generally make a mess of everything they do. Why on earth would anyone want to emulate them.
Protest mode is a good thing. But .. always being in protest mode is overkill and it turns people off. I do not want the repubs to focus on protest mode. I would prefer them to be in FIX mode .. fixing all the mess the Clinton admin did to this government.
And .. I'm a Team Leader and Precinct Captain. However, I do not go around calling repubs names just because they don't always do things exactly the way I THINK they should do them.

"The democratic senator said that they've approved President Bush's nominations 98% of the time, and that we should be happy. If I told my Wife I was faithful to her 98% of the time, she wouldn't be too happy."
Classic!

The last -- and only time -- that I ever used that button was an "Army of ZOG" poster that popped up on one of these live threads.
Legerdemain: Nothing personal, but staffers names? How often do you even hear about them in the media... In the end it is their boss that they are representing. Call your senator (if they are a dim) and complain that you were treated rudely when you were calling in. Don't mention why you were calling, let them think they screwed one of their own. When (aside from someone being used as a fall guy) was the last time that you read the name of a staffer in anyone's office?

You were right about the young RAT cloakroom boy. I told him I'm a voter from NY, watching the proceedings on C-Span, and I'm furious with Senator Schumer's leading the pack of obstructionists." He asked me who was on now, and I told him, he uttered "uh" as though he was satisfied, and I could continue.
I repeated what I said, and he said "That's not my job." I responded, "What do you mean?" He said "If it's about a procedural point, he could help me, but if not, he couldn't. Is it about a procedural point?" "No." "Well I can't help you." I said I would like for you to pass it along." He told me that I would have to contact the Senator's office, and "how can you tell your boss that he's doing a lousy job?"
I said I would just like you to pass it along...then it got into the fact that I'm a taxpayer, and I pay for his job. He said he pays more tax than me, I said "I doubt that."
Then he said "Why don't you pay more tax, so I can get a better job?" TYPICAL RAT. I said, "I doubt it," thanked him, and said goodbye.
I hope the Rupublicans figuratively beat their brains out!!!
To: Legerdemain
Are you deliberately missing the point, or are you really as obtuse as you're acting?
We are telling you that the posters on FR frown on posting personal information about people who aren't elected officials.
Take the hint.
To: RandallFlagg
Glad you got it right the first time.
