This whole "cooling saucer" crap reminds me of the way the "main stream" media used to introduce the Senate portion of the impeachment proceedings of Clinton. The Senate was the august body full of history and tradition. THey have proved themselves over time to be less than that, IMHO.

Watch: Kay Bailey is going to smack Boxer around for her remarks about Kuhl!

I agree with you. I just called the gentleman at the Republican Cloak Room with short messages for both Senators Craig and Kyl. Then I thanked him for his time and said I hope he didn't develop laryngitis like Senator Hatch. He laughed and said thank you.

The Founding Fathers made a critical error (IMHO). They thought only honorable persons would seek high office. As demonstrated by the left tonight, our Founders miscalculated.

Here is the rest of the story.!!

But the senate's constitutional duty is to advise and consent the President's appointments. Whether through committee or filibuster, preventing a nomination from going forward is a violation of their constitutional duty.
I would also argue that not voting for a nominee because of political considerations is also a violation that both parties are guilty of.
I don't dissagree with you about holds - no place for this anywhere.
To: CyberAnt
Hmmmm?? Then why are you bothering to watch and why are you bothering us with your nonsensical comments ..?? I continue to watch, write, call, organize, and contribute. I am Republican Team Leader in my neighborhood. I also continue to be very frustrated by the party which I support, that they continue to be upstaged in one manner or another by the (much more battle worthy) minority. I believe that I speak from knowledge and experience, and I do not think that my comments are "nonsensical" in the least. You are of course free to disagree. See ya around.

Should I call and ask them to talk about MemoGate?

Or at least the voters would not elect dishonorable people. But then so many voters these days are not honorable themselves.

I have been disappointed at the absence of Tommy Puff Daschle, the drunkard from Massachusetts, and wicked witch from New York.
Where are those beloved senators?

Whats the number?
To: al_again
Not quite. When a nominee is voted down in the committe, the opposition can ask for an up or down floor vote IF they believe they have the votes to comfirm. A no vote in committee is in no way a killer of a nomination. But if the nominee does not have the votes after a no vote in committee, then the nomination dies.
