Some of us had our FReeper jackets on with FreeRepublic.com on the back. Unfortunately, I think that the buttons with www.freerepublic.com at the bottom had to be taken off before entering the Gallery.

Sorry I missed meeting you. Now I'd better get some sleep because I have to go to work in the morning.

Thanks to all who are going to keep the thread going all night.

Take a hint; that's frowned on at FR by those of us who have been here a long time.

If you publish somebody's name, it will be deleted.

Senator who favors the judicial nominees rises and says: Point of Order Mr. President. Doesn't the Advise and Consent clause require a majority vote on judicial nominees, and therefore isn't Cloture Rule unconstitutional if used against such a nominee?"

Vice President Cheney presiding for the occasion: "Let me check with my Parliamentarian." [Confers with Parliamentarian.] "The Chair determines that the Point of Order is correct. The Cloture Rule cannot be constitutionally applied to any judicial nominee."

Yes, I have heard of this, and I agree that this tactic should be employed with all due haste.

If the 'Pubs are concerned about "poisoning the well", I would submit, is it not already poisoned? To me, the "Pubs do not understand that the "new Democrats" that they confront are a radicalized extremist fascist force, whose motto seems to be "The Agenda Uber Alles".

Past modes of civil discourse are being discarded over and again. In this sense, the Dims have an advantage -- e.g. in battle between heathens and gentlemen, if the gentlemen are not careful, they will lose. IMO this is why the Left has developed an affinity with the terrorists. But that is another story.

My e-mail to Senator Boxer:

Senator Boxer,

I happened to watch c-span tonight and did catch your comments on the judicial issue.

I do admit that I hadn't been following this all that much, but do question why Democrats refuse to allow an up or down vote on the nominees.

After watching c-span tonight I've come away with far more interest in the process. I have far more questions than I had prior to tonight.

One of those questions pertains to your chart of groups opposing a judicial nominee. I paid attention to your chart of opposition and could not help noticing that those groups were all leftist groups. Not just one or two leftist groups; instead every single group listed was a leftist group.

I find that rather telling when compared to your statements of disallowing anything other than mainstream judges. I certainly feel that someone is playing partisan politics and it isn't President Bush or the Republicans.

None of those groups represent mainstream America. All of those groups hold a leftist political ideology - the same ideology you are obviously pushing for.

I no longer have questions about this 30-hour debate held by the Senate. Such an action is necessary, due to the fact that Democrats have obviously been obstructing the will of the people. That became obvious when you attempted to label leftist organizations as mainstream America.

You certainly are not a good judge of what mainstream America is or what we stand for in life. I'd also question your comprehension of our nation's Constitution or the business that is important to the citizens of this nation.

You stated that you're passionate about this issue Senator. While I don't doubt your passion for this issue, I now doubt your sincerity and your honesty.

Put the nominees to a vote Senator. Up or down, give the nominees, and our President, the courtesy of a vote.

I just called too and said that while Durbin's constituents may have turned this off long ago I haven't. He laughed when I told him I was not represented in Michigan by any US Senator so I have adopted Coleman for this cause. He said he'd pass it along.

Point is, I am sure they are at least tallying support calls so I think it's important to call and energize them.

Wow, Senator Dayton is absolutely the WORST public speaker I've seen in the Senate. He sounds like Kermit the Frog mumbling/stuttering a speech from a telepromper. How the heck did this guy defeat INCUMBANT Senator Grams in MN?

Dayton's family owns the Dayton Hudson Corporation, which in turn owns the Target, Marshall Fields, and Mervyns store chains. He spent $8.6 million dollars of his own money to basically buy the election. Same as what Maria Cantwell did in WA.

Spotted owls don't inhabit California.

Spotted owls do inhabit central California, according to the Audubon society. I've seen them in southern Oregon near the border too.

Of course, spotted owls are for all practical purposes little more than a breed of common barred owl. Good thing for the timber industry that there aren't too many color and pattern mutations of barred owls or we'd have each individual barred owl that showed any unusual characteristics- even something as minute as a bird zit or broken talon- renamed "the Oily Pore Puberty Owl" and "the Unmanicured Assymetric Owl" and declared an endangered species by the ecoterror crowd. They would be spiking trees in every part of the US in which a barred owl of any sort could be found.

As for the reference to rats...not only is California's disaster areas home to special rats but the US Senate is infested with rats as well. I can picture rat Senators finding themselves mired in adhesive on some giant sticky rat trap baited with porkrinds and Chinese cash.
