This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

If you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

There was a tremendous amount of information posted on the previous thread. For anyone who hasn't been following the daily threads, links to relevant posts and information from the previous thread are contained in the body of the present one. I have found that very helpful in trying to find something later. You people are doing a spectacular job of getting information out and also in helping to keep all of us updated here. What a great joint effort. This fight, to me, illustrates beautifully what Free Republic is about and what it means to be a FReeper. Way to go FRiends. Keep up the good work!

Well another thing that struck me this a.m. when I was trying to locate the spot which I posted earlier....was M&F talking about court testimony in which Mr. Schindler was asked if Terri had diabetes would he allow one of her legs to be cut off, and he said yes, then He was asked about another leg and said yes, then he was asked what about an arm? And he said yes if it was necessary to keep her alive.....

M&F nodded at each other as Felos said this was "disturbing"

anyone who does not have a whole body(either physically or healthwise) needs to pay close attention to what is happening in this "debate"(right to die).As several of us have already noted, the implication is that you do not need to live if you are in anyway incapicated.

Just want to touch on General Sherman.

He wrote to the Mayor of Atlanta: ""You cannot qualify war in harsher terms than I will. War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it; and those who brought war into our country deserve all the curses and maledictions a people can pour out."

Since HE understood WAR, he won.

Understand the battle we are fighting, for Terri's life, for every life of people in similar circumstance. It is a war, and the most durable resolve to fight it is founded only in understanding of it.

Sherman won by being what was seen as cruel. Yet his ways tended to spare lives. His deep understanding -- to see the fundamental Hell that is war, allowed him to see that while in Hell, while an agent of Hell, he could at least be ruler of the Hell he commanded, and by that, save many, many, many lives. Which he did.

He could only master the ways in whcih he could direct hellish cruelity, but not make it less cruel.

No, I am not SURE that Schiavo is at Morton Plant Hospital, but I thought that point was included in some of the coverage of Oct. 21-22, 2003. At any rate, I wonder if some patients have asked that Schiavo not be allowed to "treat" them.

That's a good line of thinking, Budge. We just don't know the truth about their finances, especially with large amounts of funds missing and the records sealed. (MS and Felos sure have a lot to hide! How convenient to have a pet judge who okays sealing Terri's medical and financial records.)

However, the lawyers claim they haven't been paid for several years and that the Hospice hasn't been paid either. That would seem to confirm they have already stolen everything there is to steal.

What we should pay a lot more attention to is whether Terri is receiving Medicare or other federal funds. We've had posts giving dollar amounts of Medicare she's gotten (or something like that). Curiously -- very curiously -- Felos recently denied that Terri was getting any tax-paid help, which may have been more of his twisted tongue.

In an earlier thread, I believe someone published a federal regulation banning euthanasia and other mistreatment of patients receiving Medicare funds. We should track THAT down. What Felos is doing to Terri is probably against Federal law.

Michael Schiavo To Sue Any Doctors Helping His Wife

CLEARWATER - Terri Schiavo was in stable condition late Wednesday and able to be released from the hospital. But it will be several days before doctors know whether the 39-year-old woman's kidneys were damaged by going almost a full week without liquid nutrition supplied through a tube inserted in her stomach, said Deborah Bushnell, an attorney for husband Michael Schiavo.

The tube was reinserted on Gov. Jeb Bush's orders late Tuesday, Bushnell said. But the process was difficult because Terri Schiavo's treating physician resigned as soon as she was admitted to Morton Plant Hospital to be treated for dehydration and undergo the operation needed to insert the tube, the attorney said. The quest for a new physician was complicated by a warning issued by Michael Schiavo on Tuesday that he intended to sue any doctor who inserted a feeding tube or gave intravenous hydration to his wife, Bushnell acknowledged.

The lack of a treating physician also delayed Terri Schiavo's return to a Pinellas Park hospice until Wednesday evening, Bushnell said....
