What I am really amazed at is they would rather defend his decision to appoint a radical environmental whacko, than maybe make a difference! And just how does whining about it here make a difference?

Bravo on the pounds lost! I have stalled but hope to get back on track if life ever settles down.
Vey long story...
To: Corin Stormhands
And just how does whining about it here make a difference?MSCASEY was suggesting that we should write letters to Schwarzenegger expressing our concerns about this appointment. How is that "whining"? I'll show you whining!

And the I immediately grew very satisfied and began a little bit of a sugar creep. (Okay, I ate a pastry) So, I've lectured myself pretty stoutly and returned to the strictness of the Atkins diet.

Any visits over to our favorite forum recently? Not to post. Did post on a Tolkien thread over there today.
But somehow living thru the eye of a hurricane made me realize how trivial those discussions (and the discussers) really are.

But we here in California knew that's what he would do. No surprises. We voted him in to get our fiscal house in order and I expect him to do that.

I'll show you whining! You already have.

Orrin Hatch is one of Ted Kennedy's best friends. Are you saying, therefore, that all one has to know about Orrin Hatch is that he is friends with Ted Kennedy in order to understand his politics.
Ridiculous.
To: Corin Stormhands
Maybe instead of defending it, those of you who did vote for him down there could start a campaign to ask him to change his selection of this cabinet member!
When something like this is posted don't just automatically defend it, but look at it and say what can we do to possibly have this changed!

:-) Just don't take your eye off our Marxist legislature. One of my biggest concerns regarding the recall was that election of a Republican would let the legislature off the hook in the public's eyes.

We survived well. But were without power for 8 days. No damage to our house.
As for the other, just lots of "life" going on. Need to kick myself in the rear and get back on the diet, but gotta deal thru some of this stress first.
To: Chad Fairbanks
Make up your minds already. Californians voted in a Fiscal COnservative/Social Liberal, and now ya all are whining because you got exactly what you voted for. Go figure.I think these are the one's who didn't vote for Arnold Chad, not those who did.

Do you like environmental whack jobs? If the answer is no then do something about! If the answer is yes, then keep defending the appointment!

Prostitutes are mostly drug addicts and I doubt they register to vote and I sure as hell wouldn't allow a filthy drug addict into my home around my family! Assemblyman Steve Samuelian disagrees with you.

Maybe instead of defending it, those of you who did vote for him down there could start a campaign to ask him to change his selection of this cabinet member! 1) I'm not defending or condemning his choice. I simply think Saundra is overreacting. And I think her statement that she would allow a liberal democrat in her home is a) ludicrous and b) not what Christ would do.
2) I didn't vote for Arnold. Tried to, but they wouldn't accept my absentee vote from my home in Virginia.
I can't fault Saundra for being upset. But I think second guessing Arnold's every move will be counter productive. He wasn't elected by conservatives and it's silly to think he'll govern as a conservative.
If he manages to hold the line on taxes and restore some fiscal responsibility, we gotta count that as a win.
But, fercryinoutloud, let the man get in office first.
To: Saundra Duffy
Arnold announced he's not going to have one of those fancy parties after he's sworn in. Thank goodness we won't have to stomach a ballroom full of RINOs and democrats (with a few "token" conservative Republicans) dancing around, clapping and making fools of themselves. What in the world is your problem? You won't allow a democrat in your home, and no, for God's sake, you don't want anyone having a party and dancing.
Honey, they wouldn't be the ones making fools out of themselves unless they started acting like you.
