"Let's get the hell out of this quagmire..."

Yep, makes a whole lot of sense when you think about it. Let's cut and run; save our battle for another day; like when they are in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. Yeah let's wait until than.

But wait a minute, they are already there, and here, now! Wake up, over 90% of the armed conflicts taking place in the world today involve these Islamic Fanatics.

WE ARE FIGHTING WWIII NOW.

The cost in terms of human life and economics will be determined by our actions NOW. Best take to the offense while we have the extreme advantage.

The war of cultures, between the free democracies of the west and those carrying the repressive "sharia law" banner of the Islamic Crusade, is enevitable.

Either we engage the war on the enemy on their soil or wait for it to reach ours. If we wait, 9-11 will look like a walk in the park when compared to what we will be facing than.

Agreed-leaving now would just inflame the JIHADIST more as it would be considered a huge victory

Thismorning Glen Beck show, Glen was talking about the 'quagmire' comments being made about this war.

He pulled out some facts that were very interesting to me.

There have been over 300 American deaths in this war.

Some say it's a quagmire like vietnam and we should get out of there and that our troops are dying for nothing. Then Glen referred to the tactics Saddam's men used to torture families and babies even, in front of their parents. I won't post those details here. But anyway Glen made this point.

In our Revolutionary War, 4000 French died who fought on our side, that being 15% of their total troops they had over here. He compared that to the amount of our troops that have died for the Iraqis. In order to match the French some 20 or 30,000 of our soldiers would have to die. (I hope I got that number right) Anyway it's an important point.

He also said that at the rate our soldiers are dying in Iraq, this war would have to go on for 72 years to equal the amount of soldiers who died in Vietnam.

He then made lastly the important point that (In the Revolutionary War) King George wasn't raping and torturing and creating mass graves full of children, he was raping our pockets $$. And the French gave their lives for us. Now how much more important is this war in Iraq, and the sacrifice of our soldiers, for a people, who are being raped , tortured and killed. It is a worthy and nobel war.

Here's your intel...
After they hit one of our convoys, etc., get the rest of our guys outta that location, warn emergency folks to stay away, then after about 30 minutes when the terrorists show up to gloat and whoop, NAPALM the site.

That is a tempting thought.

I take it to mean we are killing more than we are told.I certainly hope so.

Rumsfeld's comment to that question on Fox News Sunday was something like this..."Goodness yes. We are killing and capturing DOZENS more of them than they are us."

Hi "AWW," while I don't agree with your point of view in this case, I'm not one who wants to shut it down, either. And yes, you have been a long-time, unique and active member of FR. I have found myself in agreement with you on some issues.

My own intuitive inclination always has leaned toward having the United States less involved in overseas conflicts. But 9/11 and the anthrax attacks changed my perspective.

The anthrax attacks, in particular, were the reason I wholeheartedly supported — and continue to support — the Iraq war. Even though no WMD have been found, enough circumstantial evidence exists to tie the Atta gang and/or a companion cell to the anthrax used against us in 2001, that I think it would have been virtual criminal negligence for the Administration NOT to go into Iraq under the circumstances.

In any event, whether or not one supported going in, the fact is that we are now there and MUST finish the job. The debate now should not be whether to stay or withdraw, but whether the military bosses are managing the situation effectively. Being half a world away in Los Angeles, and having to make judgements based only on what the media chooses to filter to me, it's hard to know what to think. But I have the gut sense that our military is being far too passive and reactive in Iraq.

In fact, the one criticism I have of our military approach at the end of the first Gulf War and since is that it seems we fail to follow through and go for the jugular just at the moment victory is at hand. We did that at Kandahar, Afghanistan, when we let Mullah Omar slip away, and again at Tora Bora when we let Osama bin Laden get away. Both times, we allowed the locals to call temporary truces. We seem to have done something similar in Iraq, when the President called what, in retrospect, seems like a too-hasty end to "major combat operations" — meaning ending the aggressive invasion posture of our troops in favor of a more passive occupying posture.

I agree with those on this thread who are calling for a more aggressive approach, including martial law. In fact, I don't understand why our military has failed to do a non-stop, systematic, grid-by-grid, house-to-house search for weapons, contraband, and wanted individuals. Bring in whatever resources are needed to accomplish that task. Keep cleared areas sealed off from non-cleared areas until the job is done.

Oh, I don't know.

I could support bringing all our troops home....

And then turning the whole place into a lake of glass.

Cool website referenced in your tagline. A couple months ago I was searching for a tie between Saddam and 9/11, found this picture, and noticed it was housed at littlegreenfootballs.

LGF is great, the unadulturated truth about terrorist Islam and the Loony left you won't see in our mainstream "news."

Makes one wonder what dictator in Iraq was responsible for commissioning murals. Telling, don't you think?

Yes very telling. Even if he wasn't directly involved, he was certainly proud of it; I however believe he was involved in some sense.

You're right, it is a nobel and just war, as for it being legal, it's legal according to the laws of the USA, and that's the only law I care about, not the UN or the ICC.
