Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

Monday, November 3, 2003

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

What is with the FBI reward re: Ricin. I just got home and heard the tail end of a report on Fox re: a letter sent saying this was the last chance to change the new ruling for truckers (the hours they can drive). That they have or can make more Ricin.

FBI Offers Reward in Ricin-Package Case
56 minutes ago Add U.S. National - AP to My Yahoo!

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The FBI (news - web sites) on Thursday offered a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to an arrest of anyone responsible for leaving a package containing the deadly poison ricin at a post office in October.

No suspects have been arrested and no illnesses have been reported since the package was found Oct. 15 at the facility serving Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.

The discovery triggered a terrorism investigation and the postal center was temporarily closed while health officials tested it. No signs of contamination were found.

The FBI and other federal agencies set up a toll-free number, (866) 839-6241, for information about the incident.

Ricin is derived from the castor bean plant, is relatively easy to make and can be deadly in very small doses. When inhaled or ingested, fever, cough, shortness of breath, chest tightness and low blood pressure can occur within eight hours. Death can come between 36 and 72 hours after exposure. There is no antidote.

Because of other collated raw intelligence, particularly the words of Osama bin Laden in the current issue of "Voice of Jihad", and other words and phrases such as "Elif air ab tizak"...all indicate there is a major operation underway.

I haven't read anything from this person yet to suggest that he's anything other than a teenage kid playing headgames. Perhaps he's traveling to grandma's house for a couple of days and won't have access to a computer again for another 48 to 60 hours. Eventually, another bomb will go off, or there will in fact be a coup attempt against the House of Saud, or there will be a major attack against American interests here or abroad, and too many of us (perhaps myself included), will claim this nut had inside knowledge simply because his vague statements can be interpreted as forewarning against the inevitable. Sort of like when Jean Dixon would predict in one of the tabloids that there would be a major natural disaster in a western area or that a significant crisis would effect a major political leader. Well DUH!!!

Tell me about it! Have you ever gotten up in the middle of the night and fallen in because of that? LOL

Sorry, I know this is supposed to be a serious subject, but being your lil' sis, you know that I have your warped sense of humor too!

"Why hasn't this guy been tracked down yet?"

He posts from Amsterdam, NL. He is a loud mouth who talks waaaay too much, but I am grateful for his big mouth. I imagine other jihadists are ticked-off deluxe with him because EOM's big mouth has been jeopardizing their missions for some time now.

What I do not understand is why alQaeda does not just slot him and be done with it. He has literally been more of an ally to us than his vitriol suggests. Really.

Yeah, I was looking forward to the Board of Election calling me to ask me what absentee ballot I wanted mailed to me. I was looking for to saying "Republican" and having that person fall off his/her seat. Now I'm going to have to say independent. They do have independent ballots of the primary, right? I don't have to declare myself dem or rep, do I?

EOM and Daleel post are not the site owners where they post. My hope is that the Feds are on to *them*.

It's quite trivial to track them down. Many people have the skills and tools to do it. I believe they've already been ID'd.

I'm always reminded of the Dan Pearl kidnappers sending emails to U.S. news organizations using a Hotmail account. Hotmail embeds the source IP of the sender in every email. IIRC several of the perps were nabbed less than a week after Pearl's disappearance.

It was never reported, but I'm almost certain those emails pointed right back to the Internet cafe in Karachi, which was put under surveillance, the owners questioned, browser caches examined, and then they waited for them them to return. Busted.

BTW, I don't think their PGP emails are immune to being cracked by a serious entity with serious compute cycles. They make think so, but this is the caliber of jihadi we're dealing with.

Supposedly, the Milan paper Il Giornale is one of the largest papers, it has a conservative bentm, and it is owned by President Berlusconi and his family. Last week, I went looking for the site of the newspaper, but it is of course in Italian and I do not know the language and I also do not have the time to try to translate while I search! The link is: http://www.giornale.it
