[history]
Monday, November 3, 2003
A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

It is very strange. Obviously a wise move to pass it on to the authorities, it could be the real deal, or an odd coincedence. If it's coincidence that guy is going to be confused when he checks his weblog ;)

" And in spite what you may think in your limited ability, you do need people of intelligence on this sort of mission...quest...thread..."
Yeah, but I just found out that a bunch of you are lurking on this thread that never post. LOL
Honestly I am not insulting the intelligence of the posters. I just think it is obvious that they were just saying anything to get to the end. But I only read the last couple hundred posts.

Are you sure about the flight number being 730?

You two are missing each other's points
here. Getmain, I see what you are saying about the search code.
But this site has the terms, Ahlam hu Akhbar embedded in hidden value code.
What Sean is trying to tell you is Google had the site cached with Ahlam hu Akhbar embedded.
So can you explain why this site would have had Ahlam hu Akhbar embedded for a search engine to spider?

Checked on google for images of the Luxor, and it does seem to match up with the photo you linked to. The light seems to be at the top of the pyramid.

Yeah, but I just found out that a bunch of you are lurking on this thread that never post. LOL Actually your disparaging remarks were pointed out to us. I haven't read this thread.
And sure, we had some fun with the last few thousand posts getting to the end. We're not all seriesness over there. Just sayin' there's a lot more substance than a lot of people know.
That's all. Carry on.

Getmain, I appreciate your clarifications and have found them informative.
However, it is a little odd that Sean's search term produced those three specific images: Luxor, a 747, and Staples Center (I've verified all three to my personal satisfaction).
The only note I'll add is that the whole point of Twexus is to allow people to associate new search terms to any of the 21,000 images in the database. If a word hasn't been used, you can associate it with any image appearing on your monitor.
Honestly, the only question I have (and it leaves me sceptical) is how someone might have deliberately constructed the 3-image sequence and then added the three specific parts of the search term deliberately. None of the images have anything obvious associated with them, e.g., "luxor" doesn't appear as an association with the Luxor image. (You can see the associations by clicking on the image and then "info" underneath)
Anyway, it's odd.

Makes sense that a hotel named the Luxor (named by the bad infidels and used as a place of fun) could be targeted.

There is a real EOM ... and ... there is or are fraudulent copycats.
I know the real EOM when he posts.
He posted to someone a week before 9/11 and made comments about it that clearly demonstrated a specific amout foreknowledge about the events of that day. I repeat, specific knowledge of the events of 9/11.
Yes, there most certainly is a real EOM who is in the know on alQaeda operations. There lots many here have no clue about in the counter-terrorism effort.
Hence my reaction to his comments of 7:39 PM EST this evening. He's been quiet ever since.
I understand your treading lightly, and I appreciate it.
Some here have egos to large for a flippin' Mac truck to navigate.
Eh, they'll learn....
And, hey, if the discovery of the site does absolutely nothing but remove a possible commo tool from AQ usage... job well done. Interdicting their commo links is just another round fired in the war, and a victory nonetheless.

Yes, I know--I saw that! And then did a google search for some images, thinking I would find the exact pic, but they must have taken their own photo there, or else just played around with something they found on the net.
I haven't stayed at the Luxor, but have driven by, and it's pretty impressive.
To: texasbluebell
Add in that it's very close to the airport along with Mandalay Bay I think.
To: angkor
FREAKING BINGO!!!
That is my point exactly. Thank You.
To: texasbluebell
DEFINITELY LUXOR.
Sorry for yelling.
I checked the foliage in the image (after gamma correction) and it is the same foliage that appears in a photo I personally took last year.
Palm trees and the hanging foliage trees, which are closer to the front of the building. Being that close to the front base of Luxor would also explain the camera angle and the position of the light at the apex.
To: Calpernia
Why does it bring back any image at all when you enter a compeltely nonsensical word? Answer: it creates an association with a random image when you enter in a word that is not previously associated with an image.
Don't forget how Mr. Lomax came across the twexus site in the first place: the three words in the search term were listed in a search term seed page that the twexus site uses to boost it's appearance in search engine results. You can see that seed page here in the
google cache of the page: There are thousands of miscellaneous words on the page so that the twexus site will appear in search results for many thousands of search requests via engines like google which use web spiders to build search results.
There is no reason to assume that jihadis are using the twexus site just because Mr. Lomax stumbled across the page via a misspelled google search, given my explaination of the usage of the search term seed page above. The jihadis would either had to have talked the site owner, Andreas Wacker, into putting those 3 words into his seed page just for them, or else they found his site via a similar google search and then they ululated with joy over their stroke of luck when they find his site to contain just the right images for their proposed attacks.

The Luxor photo in question is an older shot, 2 or 3 (??) years ago Luxor added the lights on the edges of the pyramid.
