Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

So it is a Hindu symbol? I knew the Nazis "borrowed" from something but couldn't remember for the life of me. The original symbol had the "arms" in one direction and the Nazis reversed them for their swastika. That much I could remember.

I have to wonder why Iran would even consider threats of nukes on countries that have them, too, and can retaliate with same. Sanity has never been their strong suit, has it?

Thanks, that makes sense. I usually don't cruse the jihad sites. My husband has firewalls everywhere, zone alarm, anonomizer, etc. Hates cookies too, except those new white fudge covered oreos.

You are absolutely right. A lot of people ignore or make fun of the bits and pieces of the information, but obviously those of us who were taking them seriously have been the more realistic ones, because the US government is taking them seriously. Some major attacks are indeed planned.

I've been surprised at several of my friends, whom I once thought to be on top of things, who have turned out to be very unaware. I've e-mailed links from this thread and FR in general, trying to wake them up. I've spoken to others of things I've learned here. It worked with some, others seem content to remain oblivious and complacent. *sigh*

It's been a matter of "when", not "if", since 9/11 and like so many others here, my hubby and I feel the time is near. We prepared for another attack right after 9/11 and have maintained that readiness. I'd personally love it if we never need to use this stuff but I expect we will.

Well...as of tomorrow most of Washington DC is closed for (dare I say it) Christmas. I'd say Las Vegas and other major cities may be a target , but not Washington-not this time.

I must admit that I was making light of the Code Orange on another thread earlier.

But after I saw the faces of the two guys standing behind Bloomberg when he mad a statement this afternoon, I got serious. Those guys (Police Commish and one other) looked green around the gills. No kidding. They are really expecting something in NYC.

Which makes me ill. I have lots of relatives there, some who barely escaped the WTC bombings.

Guess we just have to pray a lot.

It's not just you. There are a lot of folks here on FR who have either forgotten, or (what's more likely) think we've fallen into the Chicken Little or Cry Wolf mode.

When something happens, they'll be here saying 'I didn't see it coming!'

When this thread was started with the Debka article on Nov. 3, it looked like tin foil stuff for many. And of course most of us would prefer that we were just being paranoid.

But now it's looking more and more like there is a great deal of truth in those bits and pieces of information.

Another point, that is not being made significantly enough, is that the government raised the bar for raising the threat alert.

"In September, the government raised the bar for changing the threat level, saying it would only elevate the status if there was specific and credible information about an attack."

If they raised the bar, that means that now they do have strong specific information, maybe based on the old definition we would be at red alert.
