Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

I believe there will be tremendous violence on 01 February 2004.

Of any specific date, the time frame of Feb 1-2 does seem to make the most sense.

However previous attacks haven't had any obvious pattern of dates so I don't know.

In spite of the attention on nukes, I think the most damage could be done with disease pathogens - smallpox, for example. Over half the US population has never been immunized, and those who have would have a diminished immune response because of the considerable time since vaccinations were given. That would have the potential for tens of millions of casualties in the US alone; you'd need a lot of nukes to equal that since it seems highly likely that they'd be "merely" atomic bombs rather than thermonuclear bombs.

It's true that the epidemic would almost certainly spread world-wide ... but it would definitely keep us occupied in a way that "merely" destroying a city wouldn't. They have little regard for human life - even their own - so even losing a couple hundred million fellow Muslims might seem like a good tradeoff for them: In fact they've said as much in their own words. Plus of course they can blame the epidemic on "The Great Satan" and likely deflect anger away from themselves.

The biggest drawback is that is isn't "dramatic" - there's a certain primitive satisfaction in seeing things go "boom."

Those holding ponds are just that - shallow holding tanks. Very vulnerable.

Yes, and the impending major attack was to take place overseas is what the alphabets were thinking in the summer of 2001. That's why there were so many cautions and alerts for Americans overseas.

Had dinner last night with 2 friends who are airline pilots. One retired just a couple of years ago, flew for 30 years; the other still flying and has been for 20 years. I asked them about the 2 black boxes on this flight and what they thought of it in general. They agreed that they are not buying the story of the first box being destroyed. They listed off more than one crash from much higher altitudes and the boxes are not damaged. They also found it highly suspect that so shortly after recovering the second box they have come to any conclusions regarding anything. They said it takes much longer than that. At least that's how in works in America. Maybe Egypt has "special powers" and can figure all this out at a much faster rate :-)

"The following is an assessment of the targets:

NYC and other major metro areas shopping districts under assault by suicide bombers (females). Followed immediately by assaults using false emergency vehicles and personnel holding false ID. This is to target the real US "first responders."

In rapid succession the White house, NSA and Centcom Command in Fla are hit. Bio and or Chem attacks on major population centers. Radiological attacks on key ports on both coasts.

This assualt is to cutt -ff all US forces in the Middleeast from rapid reinforcement/re-supply excepting only airlift capabilities.

Our forces in iraq are subjected to a much larger Mogodishu type operation by assembled jihadi's exported from Syria and Iran and Saudi.

US forward operating bases in Djibouti are a target. Message traffic indicates that up to 60,000 jihadis may have infiltrated the country under cover of the annual Hadj to Mecca. They will attempt to overwhelm US posts by sheer numbers."

If this analysis fairly apprehends the current situation, it looks like the Jihadists' resources would be rather depleted following such attempts or operations.
