Here is Syriacus' post 5214 from the first monster Terri thread. I'm not sure if it helps or not, but it is interesting.
Learned a little more about "potassium imbalance" yesterday. It seems it can occur during a struggle and can affect the heart.
During the struggle, not only do the levels of the catecholamines increase in the blood but so do blood potassium concentrations. The increase may be as much a 5 mEq/l or more in some individuals. Following cessation of exercise, there is an immediate, rapid drop in blood potassium to concentrations that approach 2 mEq/l. Five minutes after cessation of the exercise potassium levels may be lower than when they were at rest. There may be a prolonged hypokalemia lasting 90 min or more.
These extremes in potassium concentrations can have cardiac arrhythmogenic effects. The arrhythmogenic effects of the hyperkalemia, however, are neutralized by the cardioprotective effect of the elevated levels of catecholamines.
Thus the danger time for arrhythmias is immediately following cessation of physical activity, when blood catecholamine concentrations continue to rise while potassium levels drop dramatically to hypokalemia levels. This period has been referred to by Dimsdale et al. as the time of post-exercise peril, in that there is a risk of cardiac arrhythmias during this period.

If information comes to light thru further investigation, and the awarded party was found to have been wrongfully awarded payment due to fraudulent testimony, inept investigation, or inferior representation on the part of the defendent's counsel, can this be changed?
I don't know but that's a good question. I don't know what the ramifications would be in this particular case, since I believe the insurance company that paid the award has since gone out of business. But it would be interesting to know what sort of repercussions it would have on MS. What a convoluted case!

Wow! I will have to get that Reader's Digest. Doesn't suprise me. I will go online to see if they have that article online at RD website. If they do, I am going to forward it to the Chief Justice of that "Circus" Court.

Michael Schiavo is a damn liar and I'll bet you he voted for Bill Clinton twice.

He's got something to hide, thus the attempt (hopefully to be thwarted) at a 'fast-track' cremation w/her ashes spread at PA Schiavo place.FWIW, cremation is allowed by the Catholic Church, but spreading the ashes is forbidden. They must remain together. I hope Michael really isn't planning to do that in the event he pulls the rest of this off. It would be the final horrid blow to Terri's family.

I would be willing to bet that the current relationship between MS and his girlfriend will end in a messy break-up with her exposing him for the creep we all know he is - and if it hadn't been for all this publicity over Terri, he'd just as leave bump her off, too.

with this post, I too agree. The only thing is, I am still not sure why the bs would be so high, even with d5w. But I need to read up some more!

So Nov. 6th then? I hope Ms. Anderson will also be there

I never even CHECKED my "Comments" page till about 2 months ago. Now I have pages and pages and pages of posts....Oh dear! Imagine all the FReepers who thought you were ignoring them. Yikes!
Wouldn't it be nice to have a feature to delete old posts? (Hint, hint!)

The person telling me this did not know how the police were notified, so we can't say if it was the treating physicians for sure. Yeah, what did her exam show? Did the police interview Michael? I'd sure like to see the medical & police records. . .
I've been at http://209.157.64.200/focus/f-news/1003264/posts -- info downloaded from terrisfight. Many people have thought it was important to spend time & money try to get justice for Terri -- why has justice for Terri been elusive?
(snip from #18): "The probate court system has blocked all attempts to rationally review this decision to sentence Terri Schiavo to death."

I read that one. That's why I don't necessarily think it is conservative vs. liberal. Greta seems liberal to me, so does Geraldo R. and both of them are giving a fair shake to Terri's family.
I would have thought O'Reilly would have been on the family's side but he brings on people that claim she is in a persistent vegetative state.
Maybe even Larry King woke up after he had Michael on. I think he was surprised at Michael's answers, especially his negative reply to taking a lie detector test, not allowing the CNN cameras in, and the fact that this man is having kids with his new girlfriend, while he professes his undying love for Terri.
Evidently Catherine Crier was completely against Terri's family. I think of her as liberal, but I wouldn't have expected her to be as negative as it was reported she was.
Because the Florida legislator has a majority of Republicans, I think liberals at first blush take Michael's side, but anyone that looks at the facts comes over to the other side. We can't allow this one judge to allow a state sanctioned death on such flimsy information from her abusive husband.

Nah, it's more than alimony. Her family was willing to give up any rights to any of her money, to pay him to get guardianship of Terri. The family might have been willing to give up the rights to her settlement but the issue of alimony doesn't appear to be part of that agreement. I ran across that issue in reading a filing for removing Michael as guardian (I think it was the last filing as it mentioned the small amount of settlemnt monies left). It does bring up another reason why he wouldn't want a divorce....he has a 'new family' to worry about and he would have help to pay for her keep until she died. They brought it up as a reason why he wouldn't divorce her and give his child legitimacy.
As for the Schindlers buying Michael off, the father admitted that it was a ploy by their lawyer and if he had accepted, they would have to try to raise the money (there's no doubt in my mind that they could've done it..I would have helped).
Looks like I saved the wrong articles today and will need to search again.
BTW....I am very much in support of Terri and her family

I doubt the bulimia angle too. Who has said they ever saw her throw up, who recalls even one conversation with Terri about bulimia?
Yeah, it's a secretive thing. Like domestic violence.

That the court allowed the fund pay for the legal fees because Felos is Terry's lawyers also. Is Felos officially Terri's lawyer? If so, the first thing a GAL should do is fire him. Then seek some investigations because Felos has been very clearly not been working to ensure Terri's interests.
For example, what exactly is documented about Felos' intention to write a book about Terri? It seems that in and of itself suggests some pretty big conflicts of interest right there.
