President Bush's Message to the Grassroots: "I Need You"
Bush Team Leaders ^ | 10/28/03 | President George W. Bush

Posted on 10/28/2003 1:09:13 PM PST by Marcus Alonzo Hanna

Dear Republican,

Over the last few months, Laura and I have traveled the country and have been humbled by the enthusiastic support we have been given.

Our country has faced many challenges in the last two and half years and we are meeting these challenges at home and abroad. We're defeating the enemies of freedom. And at the same time, we're confronting challenges to build prosperity for our nation and a more compassionate society.

Every test has revealed the true character of America. And no one in the world can doubt the spirit and will and strength of the American people.

We are meeting the challenges of our time but there is much more to be done and I need your support. Will you join me in these efforts by volunteering for my re-election campaign as a Bush Team Leader?

http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/

As a Bush Team Leader you will be asked to help by volunteering at local events, hosting your own events, registering new voters, turning out voters on Election Day and more. Most importantly, you will be asked to recruit more Bush Team Leaders to help us win in November 2004. Please sign up to be a part of this important effort today.

The challenges we face cannot be met with timid actions or bitter words. They will be overcome with optimism and resolve and confidence in the ideals of America.

We are acting to advance human freedom and liberty and making the world and America more secure. We took action to create jobs and get the economy growing again.

We acted on principle. You did not send me to this office to mark time. You sent me here to restore dignity and honor to the White House and to help build a safe and prosperous and caring nation. Will you join me in this effort by becoming a Bush Team Leader and volunteer your time?

http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/

I want to thank you for the work that you will do in the months to come. There is no question in my mind that with your help we are laying the foundation to win a great victory in November of 2004.

Sincerely,

George W. Bush

P.S. Again, thank you for making my campaign strong at the grassroots level all across the country. I am grateful to the over 300,000 Americans that have contributed to my campaign and the millions more who've signed up on the campaign email list. And I am grateful to everyone that chooses to volunteer in support of this effort. I need you to make certain your friends and family register to vote. I need you to make phone calls, send emails, help organize rallies, put up signs, and get out the vote. I need you to volunteer in my campaign today.

Isolationalism is a destructive policy.

Unless of course, you are about to provide some shinig examples of it working somewhere.

Better yet - can you provide some examples of where it's a destructive policy. I can play these games too.

There's a huge battle going on; it's a battle for the soul and future of this Country.

The forces fighting this battle are both driven by ideological fuel, and armed with a great weapon...the guarantee that all are free to believe and think as they so desire, and the ability to effect change as self-governed people.

There are two major armies enjoined in this battle, and we have taken position on a battlefield called "governmental politics", the battle will be won there, as will the future of the nation.

Some people in this country, though armed with equal weapons, have chosen to stand in an empty battlefield, and wait there in the outside chance that the battle will be relocated to suit them.

That's where you are, standing someplace other than where the battle is taking place, not testing the metal of your weapon, and waiting for whatever the outcome of that battle may be, and whatever may befall the nation as a result of it.

You hoist your "principles" as though no one but you posses them, you are wrong, we all do to a great extent.

What I don't believe in, is that by refusing to join the battle, I can somehow help win the war.

You believe that, and you are wrong.

Sun Tzu said that the best way to defeat an enemy is by dividing them, you are the result if that tactic being executed by the enemies of our nation.

The most ironic part is that you probably see yourself as some sort of patriot, when in effect, you are little more than a pacifist on your way to becoming a victim.

This battle, joined by a vast coalition of those willing to fight, will one day bring about well-deserved victory, and those like you, who never actually joined in, will be poised and ready to claim the victory as your own.

And if we don't, you will likewise ready to blame the loss on the people that actually fought while you didn't.

Maybe all that flowery and misdirective language will disguise the fact that you're getting your butt kicked on this thread.

"Some(maybe you?) seem to think he [Dubyuh] let them down, shocked them. Not me...I expected about what I got."

Honestly, I'm not shocked, as I figgered Bush might be a lot like his daddy (i.e. good on foreign policy, but sorta moderate on domestic policy), but I'll admit to being disappointed. Bush is a good man, and I can't help but like him, but since I got interested in politics back during the Reagan Era, I was always drawn to the Republicans becuz I thought they understood that the Federal Leviathan was too big and too intrusive, and needed to be pared back for America to thrive. Now, it seems the GOP has lost that direction and seem to be a whole lot like the DemonRATS, minus the sleaze, scandal, and LeftWing zealotry.

To me, that is something we need to change, as America don't need two parties trying to outspend each other.

"I am happy that Bush is positioning himself to have four more years to attack some of the domestic issues that have gone ignored..."

IMHO, the Bush Campaign could garner a lotta support from the RightWingers if he'd articulate how we are going to attack these domestic issues in a conservative manner (i.e. eliminating/consolidating superfluous programs and decreasing wasteful domestic pork-barrel spending).

The RightWing wants to be enthused about a second Bush term, but he's gotta give us something to work with...MUD

Look how aggressive he is on TAX
CUTS...his father cowtowed to the
Dems, broke his NNT pledge etc.

In foreign affairs, the U.N. ran
his father way too much. Dad was
good but too TIMID to lead against
opposition. The son is a lion & a
rock by comparison. Like BARBARA.

Dubya is more Reagan-like than
Bush 41-like, IMO. And unlike
anyone else, too. Just himself.

After 12 yrs of 41 & Billary, he
is a HUGE PLUS for us, just not
perfect. But neither was Reagan.

Both the Gipper & Dubya have their
reasons for imperfection. I give
equal weight to both.
