could you spell this out-am interested and either too stupid or too tired to get it....I know what parsing is, everyone who lived thru the clinton reign of terror does, but are your referring to him sending a double meaning/answering the question and at the same time sending some kind of vile message to the Schindler's?

That was my impression as well. Larry probably feels that way even more after MS flat-out turned down King's offer to film Terri. Right to privacy my a$#.

April 26, 2001 – Attorneys Anderson and Eckert presented the Cyndi Brasher Shook new findings to Judge Greer that Schiavo had perjured himself at Terri's, January 2000 trial. Judge Greer refused to hear the new evidence because it was presented after one-year time constraints. Terri had not had any nutrition for 48 hours.

What bothered me right out of the box was that when larry asked him directly if terri had really not had any therapy for TEN YEARS (even the stimulation of therapy would be good for her limbs and over all health) michael evaded the direct question by saying...let me talk about therapy....and then talked about what he had done....no doubt meaning in the first few years (while suing for money for therapy) and the question about the LAST TEN YEARS was NEVER ANSWERED.

You are correct in your assessment of Michael side-stepping the issue. Michael did talk about the therapy he has allowed for Terri in the first three years. To the untrained eye (or ear as the case may be), he only discussed the rehab he gave Terri early on. Notice that if you hadn't been following this case, it would seem like Michael was very loving to Terri, and for all we know, he may have had some true feelings for her, at one time.

However, once he received the malpractice award, he moved Terri from the Medi-plex center, and put her into Sabal Palms nursing home. That's where the DNR order went on Terri's chart. That's where he stopped allowing for infections to be treated. He ran into some problems with the staff there, about how that was illegal to do, and if I'm not mistaken, they refused to do it knowing they could be held liable for it.

IMO, that would be about the time he moved Terri to the Palm Gardens nursing home. I think Terri was there for about 5 years. Not sure exactly, but roughly something like that.

Did anyone catch how Michael said she recently got her teeth brushed, about three months ago? If that was true, then I guess he decided to give in to that after all these years. Dr. Gambone said in his courtroom testimony last Nov. that he didn't remember ever having ordered any oral hygiene for Terri.

Neither would Judge George Greer permit Ms. (Pat) Anderson (Schindler's attorney) to submit new evidence that surfaced the day after Mrs. Schiavo's feeding was stopped. On April 25, 2001, a St. Petersburg deejay batted the Schiavo case around on a radio call-in program. One listener who called in was Cindy Brashers Shook, the woman with whom Mr. Schiavo had a 1992 affair. Mrs. Shook, now married, portrayed Mr. Schiavo in a negative light.

The Schindlers heard about the call and, with their daughter's dehydration already underway, immediately called a private investigator, who interviewed Mrs. Shook. She told the investigator that during their relationship Mr. Schiavo said things like, "How the hell do I know what to do?" about his wife: He and his wife were young, the conversations went; they hadn't been married that long, and had never discussed such life-and-death topics.

On April 26, two days after Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed, Pat Anderson contacted Judge Greer. Mrs. Shook's statement, she told him, was evidence that Mr. Schiavo fabricated his wife's "oral living will." But Judge Greer said more than a year had passed since the 2000 trial, and it was too late for new evidence. Within an hour, Ms. Anderson filed a new lawsuit before Judge Frank Quesada, charging Mr. Schiavo with perjury. Judge Quesada ordered Mrs. Schiavo's feeding resumed. Mr. Felos then threw a legal counterpunch by asking a Florida appeals court to enforce Judge Greer's original mandate, and have Terri Schiavo put to death by removing her feeding tube.

Michael stated that Mister Schindler was after the money from the lawsuit, asking how much he was going to get out of it. That comment was intended to impugn Bob Schindler, but it had another possible meaning, that Mister Schindler was assuming by that point that he and his wife would be caring for Terri (occurred in late 1993, when MS had begun to 'move on with his life', wink, wink) and wanted to know how much of the proceeds would be available to help give Terri rehab therapy!

Nice that a judge believes a rule of law about time constraint is so much more important that actual JUSTICE, especially when a living breathing person is being killed at the same time.. Terri had to be treated like a death row inmate....but needed MORE than a govenors reprieve....she had to have a full legislature vote...that is called changing thelaw...just what judges tell people to do EVERYDAY in their courtrooms if that person doesn't like what is going down!

Oh, me too! I really wish he would have asked more questions. I don't think MS was expecting the g/f question. Either his attorney doesn't prepare him well, or he just doesn't listen. On May 8, attorneys on both sides questioned the girlfriend, Cyndi Brashers Shook, according to the Times. In addition to Shook's new testimony, a nurse who cared for Schindler-Schiavo filed an affidavit with the court May 11, the Associated Press (AP) reported.

Doreen Mello testified that when she visited Schindler-Schiavo and spoke to her, she seemed to be aware of her environment.

"The odd thing is that I knew she heard me, and felt she wanted to respond," Mello said in the affidavit, according to the AP. "There is no doubt in my mind that she is not in a vegetative state."

Complicating the case further is a million-dollar lawsuit settlement that was awarded to Schindler-Schiavo in 1993. The settlement came from a malpractice suit filed by Michael Schiavo against Terri's doctors, who failed to detect the low potassium levels that caused her heart attack. Only $350,000 of the settlement is left, however, according to the Times.

Previously thought to be used only to pay Schindler-Schiavo's medical costs, the Times reported that court records show it has also been used by Michael Schiavo to pay for lawyers seeking to remove her feeding tube.

"This is outrageous. It's offensive," Schindler attorney Anderson told the Times. "It's not being used for the purpose for which it was given."
