What's the big deal. TSA will just hold the gun for him until he flies back. Right?

We were on a flight last week. Part of the safety program about the life raft from the rear door says, "Attach the raft to the plane with the rope on the raft. Once it is inflated and full cut the rope from the plane with a sharp knife." They showed a drawing of a knife and a razor cutter. We were all wondering where we would get the knife from.

Roldan is a very Spanish name ---- but he had the gun in his checked luggage so it's unlikely he planned to use it on the plane. I wouldn't blame him for wanting to have a gun with him in Mexico the way the crime has gotten. I don't see why he was arrested.

After my son got back from Iraq this fall he and his wife came to visit us in Texas.I gave him a .44 mag as a coming home present. He flew back to Georgia with it and all he had to do was declare that he had it in his baggage when he checked it.

I just don't see the big crime here ---- if he forgot to declare it --- how is that our problem? He was headed home to Mexico and probably just needed it for protection. He couldn't have used it within the USA or on the flight.

...We were all wondering where we would get the knife from...apparently if you fly out of SEATAC you just bring your own with you on the plane.......

I also met a blck woman whose name ended in SKI, both parents black, not married name -g- Not too surprising. Two possibilities come to mind. The first is that her ancestors' slave masters were of Polish (or some other eastern European) ancestory and they took that name after they were freed. The other is that they just liked the name and took it for that reason.
