I am staying up all night sending emails to each legislator in Florida. As a Floriduh citizen they'd better listen to me or I will kick, well you know what. :)
After the email campaign I will start my phone calls in the morning AM.
To: dandelion
I hope you don't mind Dandelion but I borrowed your powerful words and sent the email copied below out to all Florida Representatives and Florida Senators. Thanks for the links to the email addresses. It only took a few minutes. I know it made it through because I have a ton of automatic responses in my inbox. I have been feeling so saddened about Terri and I feel somewhat better for at least trying to do something to help her and her wonderful family. May God Bless you all for your selfless fight to save Terri.
Dear Florida State House Represenative:
Terri is still alive and she's starting to really feel the effects of dehydration. Her skin is starting to crack, and she is in pain - but TERRI IS FIGHTING TO LIVE. This is NOT over. By the Grace of God, she is still alive. If Terri is willing to fight, we have an obligation to fight along side her. Please help Terri and future potential Florida victims of execution via dehydration and starvation.
Terri's family wishes to attempt to rehabilitate her and care for her by giving her the love and tenderness any human being is entilted to even if they are handicapped. Please don't let her be murdered by a glitch in the Florida state law. Please vote to pass Terri's Bill on October 20, 2003. Reach to your soul and do the right thing!
Sincerely,
Susan Claggett

dandelion,
I'd like to help. Will e-mailing the FL Reps. be of benifit? If so I will make a copy and paste list with all the Reps e-mails separated by commas. Should we email if we are from out of state and if so should we say we are out of state?
Here is my idea for the email message
Dear Representative,
On Monday October 20, 2003 please vote FOR Terris Bill which would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths currently pending in Florida.
Thank you

Re: Terri Schindler-Schiavo
To: The Florida State Legislature, et. al
Dear Sirs and Madames:
I regret that I have only just begun to learn about the shameful, inhuman tragedy of Terri Schindler-Schiavo thats been unfolding in Florida for more than a decade.
Lets just cut right to the nub of it. At this very moment a womans life is being snuffed out by an unscrupulous spouse, aided and abetted by the State of Florida. Down at the Waffle House folks would label you accomplices to murder in two-tenths of a heartbeat.
You know what disgusts me the most? While I sit up after midnight reading, praying, and writing letters and emails in Terris behalf, a special session of your legislature is still hours away from even starting. While the Schindler family hangs in limbo, an entire state government mocks all that is decent and right, and takes its jolly good time ambling up to the plate. For the sake of all your souls I do hope dear Terri hangs on while you eat your breakfasts, get briefed on the latest polls, and prepare to contemplate the despicable chain of events your apathy and cowardice has set in motion.
Heres a news flash: your dirty little story is out. Folks all over the country are watching, and the choice is uncomplicated: kill Terri or act immediately to save her life. It should take all of five seconds to do the right thing. If you hurry, maybe Terri can enjoy lunch on the legislature today and yall can get right back to your busy busy schedules.
This is one of those moments that completely transcends the earthbound. I urge each of you to consult the Almighty on this one, and make sure your name shows up in the right column.
Sincerely,
Sally and John V.

Perhaps the person who deserves the most heat is James King, the "king" of the FL Senate. He has ulterior personal interests in the die-by-hunger-and-thirst (er, hospice) industry. King is able and willing to stop this bill from seeing the Senate all by his lonesome.

I was wondering about Alan Keyes. He is always talking about the sanctity of life. Does anyone know his email?
I'd like to see him take up this cause.
