TALLAHASSEE, FL -- According to a news release sent by the Terry Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Florida Speaker Johnnie Byrd will introduce "Terri's Bill" during the special session Monday.
The bill would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths in Florida. Meanwhile, supporters of Terri Schiavo showed up Sunday outside a Pinellas Park hospice.
Doctors say Schiavo has been in a vegetative state since complications from a heart attack in 1990. Her husband was granted a court order that her feeding tube be removed, saying his wife wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive.

Rep. Burmine (Sp?):
This is a very emotional issue. I have to talk from my heart. Were talking about the constitution. The constitution is supposed to protect the people of this state. Whos protecting this girl? The Supreme Court refuses to hear this case. So, whos going to save this girl? We have to.

What's more the courts have to follow the law. So if the legislature changes the law then the courts have to follow the new law. If they don't, at least in principle they can be impeached.

So, whos going to save this girl? We have to You go, lady!!!

Oooh ... pulling out all the "Die with Dignity" stops.
Very interesting to me how critical it is for the State that we all notarize our requests to be offed in case of incapacitation.

MAKE A LIVING WILL! ... If you want any other measures taken to keep you alive, say so NOW, on paper, witnessed and notarized. Further, add explicit language noting that it is your intention that any further amendments which hasten your death, compared with your documented wishes noted therein, must take the form of another notarized statement, and that you wish that any judge who accepts hearsay evidence of your wish for a quicker death should be shot. And be sure to give copies to at least two trusted people.
That way, if Terri's situation arises, one of the trusted people can shoot the judge and have his lawyer figure out how to get a copy of the notarized statement introduced into evidence of motive. Unlikely, but perhaps a jury might see some karmic justice there.

Oh good grief - here is another "kill Terri" yahoo flapping his gums and he is about as eloquent a speaker as porky pig. Throw the bum out!

Thanks.....I am listening.
Suddenly Dems are concerned about FL Constitution. Dem says it is government intrusion......end of life care....husband's decision...he is defending the husband.
Really nasty in his attitude.

Is this guy not emotin' on behalf of Schiavo's husband? Too much. The Supreme Court refused the case? Never to SC level and the Governor still can't step in?
