TALLAHASSEE, FL -- According to a news release sent by the Terry Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Florida Speaker Johnnie Byrd will introduce "Terri's Bill" during the special session Monday.
The bill would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths in Florida. Meanwhile, supporters of Terri Schiavo showed up Sunday outside a Pinellas Park hospice.
Doctors say Schiavo has been in a vegetative state since complications from a heart attack in 1990. Her husband was granted a court order that her feeding tube be removed, saying his wife wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive.

Can Jeb order the tube in now that it has passed the Senate? Is it law? Or does the House have to approve the changes before Jeb can sign it? BTW, I absolutely LOVE your tagline. Thanks for making me laugh!

Thank you, Lord, for answering our prayers!

Klein is a Dem who changed his vote from Y in Committee to N on floor. I think he's from Broward.

I don't think so. Since the language has been changed, I'm pretty sure it has to go back to the house.

LOL...it does explain it huh?

so can she be hooked up to the feeding tube? The senate made some changes to the bill. They added that the court will appoint a gaurdian ad litem. That means the bill has to go back to the house for another vote to approve it with that change. Governor Bush can't act on the bill until it's had final approval. We need to pray that the House is ready to hear this bill again today, and quickly.

I just called King's office and she told me it goes to Gov now, will call Byrd's office to check it out,...
To: najida
Me too! When it's all over, I'd like to email all the house and senate members again. Thanks to those who voted yes, and heap coal upon those who voted no.
To: tutstar
Thank you so much for following up! Please let us all know as soon as you hear anything.
To: tutstar
I hope it is going to Gov. Bush now. The change to the bill by the Senate was just about appointing some sort of guardian; not something critical about keeping her alive.
To: lonevoice
I've got to leave for a while.
I can't stand the highs and lows any more.
The battle continues, but the light is breaking through at the end of this long, dark night.

What absolutely terrifies me is that two of the NAY's sit on Health, long term care and aging committees.
Think about it. They are the WORST people to sit on those committees.
