Why do people care about how we think about the governor? If I see this as weakness, and I don't want to vote for him, so what? I can't believe that some folks main concern here is the party line.

It seems like that because it is like that, I fear.

That sort of blind party line obedience scares the poop out of me, w/no gold nuggets.

History has not been kind to that type of blind loyalty.

Walk into the hospital with a police escort, and a spoon and some food. Who could stop him?

Who could stop him?

Anybody with a black robe, a Judge Roy Bean Greer mask, and the ability to yell "Boo!"

Yeah, I just can't be blind like that. If someone screws up, I call 'em on it. That goes for my namessake, too. If Rummy acted like a coward, I would say it.

"That sort of blind party line obedience scares the poop out of me, w/no gold nuggets."

As I've been saying in another thread, the reason -I- care is because you're lynching Bush as a ritual sacrifice instead of admitting the real problem, which is that the judiciary run our country.

I'd be saying this even if the governor in question was a Democrat I wanted out of power. Even -he- couldn't do anything.

NO ONE CAN TOUCH A JUDGE EXCEPT ANOTHER JUDGE. Face it. Realize it. Internalize it. It's over. The only constitutional power that can affect judges belongs to the legislature, which allows them to impeach a judge. And if they tried it, I have no doubt they would turn around and say they can't do that because it's unconstitutional. Who could stop them?

I'm not going to repost everything I said on this subject - I have a feeling no one is willing to listen anyway. But if someone cares, if anyone detects even a kernel of truth in what I'm saying, go read what I said on the last page of the "BUSH CAN SAVE TERRI" thread.

I'm not defending Bush because I like Bush or party loyalty. If it was a Democrat Governor, I'd still be pointing out to you that the person that did this was a JUDGE, not a Governor.

And you're living in a dreamland if you think a Governor can even -touch- a Judge in raw power in our country anymore.

What gets me is that I've already crossed the "shame on me" line. I voted for Daddy Bush once (lesser of two evilsa against Clinton), and Dubya once (as above, with respect to Gore).

No more. That's it for me. These guys are delivering the kind of nightmare that the left could only dream of getting -- because if they were in office, we'd be fighting them tooth and nail.

Instead, the "G"OP gets a pass, and goes nuts with it. If I wanted this kind of garbage, I'd have voted for the Democrats. The thing is, I voted Republican, and I got it anyway -- in spades!

No more for me, thanks. If I can't find someone worthy of my vote, I won't cast a vote. I've been a pretty dilligent voter, but I know how to stay home too, if it comes to that. A voting boycott is the easiest kind of boycott on earth. You'd think they'd know it.

Correction, the thread where I made the case for what I'm saying is titled:

"Jeb Bush CAN STOP death of TERRI SCHIAVO !!! CALL!!!"

But I know that no one will care. It's uncomfortable to realize that even GEORGE Bush, the person we -think- is the most powerful man in the world, couldn't change a thing that this measly low-level Judge has decreed.

Cause how can you change anything a Judge does, when all he has to do is say "You don't have the power to do that"? Cause when there's a dispute between a judge and anyone else, who do you call to settle the dispute? Why... a judge!

If two guys -- a bad guy and a good guy -- come up to me, and the bad guy throws my kid into the ditch, and the good guy just stands there as she drowns, and explains to me how he's not licensed to do ditch work in my county, you're damn straight I'll remember that on election day.

NO ONE CAN TOUCH A JUDGE EXCEPT ANOTHER JUDGE. Face it. Realize it. Internalize it. It's over. No one is asking anyone to "touch a judge" (ugh, what a revolting word picture you paint)

We're merely asking someone -- with the power to do so -- to stop a murder.

You talk like someone who's chickenboxed into the lawyerworld mindset. I got news for you. Things CAN happen without a lawyer -- even a ROBED lawyer -- saying "Simon Says."

That our "leaders" won't so much as fart without a "legal opinion" backing them up is a sad, sad commentary on just how far we've slid as a culture.

HOW you can say, "the real problem, [is] that the judiciary run[s] our country" -- when Bushie won't even flap his jaw without having his lawyers toss a dozen Chings for him to divine the current wind -- is so far beyond me that I can barely see it fading over the horizon.

Did Teddy Roosevelt call in the lawyers when he sent the Marines to Tripoli?

Comes a time to say damn the lawyers, full speed ahead.

It's called LEADERSHIP. There's another word for the sort of person who won't do a damn thing until it's cleared with the lawyers. I'll leave figuring out what that word is as an exercise to the reader. I'm too tired. I haven't slept in close to 20 hours, and I didn't sleep more than a few hours in the day before that. My health is shot; my heart is ruined, my spine is decomposing, and I don't do sleep-deprivation well.

G'nite, all.

One last comment for the evening

Well of COURSE he can't change a thing that Greer did. That would take courage.

George Greer is the Lester Maddox -- axe-handle at the ready -- of the 21st century.

And the Bushies are the...

Oops. My analogy breaks down. Back then, they had the courage to stand up to the likes of these guys.

Now g'nite.

What you're asking Bush to do is start a Revolution. You think I'm kidding. I'm not kidding. He would have to send in troops, at which point Greer would order him arrested, and make no mistake, he WOULD be arrested. And then the troops would be told by the Judge to stop and go home, and the order for Terri's death would continue.

If Bush tried any other challenge at the Judge, there would then be a dispute between them, would there not?

And who do you call when there is a dispute? A Judge.

Bush knows that by law anything he did would be settled by another, and actually probably the SAME, Judge. If a higher court refused to hear it (which they did, and THEY are the ones you should be mad at), then GREER would be the one to decide if Bush could challenge Greer!

The comparison to sending troops to Tripoli isn't even remotely connected to anything I'm saying. Now if Tripoli had been ruled by an American Judge, then it might have bearing.

The executive branch and legislative branch wield a lot of power... against anyone EXCEPT an American Judge. They have more power to invade another country than they do to challenge a Judge.

There is nothing Bush can do except start Civil War II.

Have you ever seen the executive branch or legislative branch successfully challenge a Judge in your lifetime? I know I haven't. You can see Judges take down mayors, governors, representatives, senators... they can even throw out voter referendums... but when have you ever seen a Judge's decree overturned except by another Judge?

You're missing the most important lesson of this whole thing. It's going right over your head. And the Tyranny of the Judiciary will continue, because you CAN'T attack the Judge who is killing Terri. You can't even touch him with a lawyer. It was tried. And who got to rule on whether Greer could do what he did? Greer.

So you'll hurt who you -can- hurt. Jeb. Even though it's not Jeb hurting Terri, it's Greer. But you know you can't hurt Greer. You can hurt Jeb. And yet, you think it's Jeb that has the power. And you don't see the irony.

The report is dated about 13 months after Terri was hospitalized and refers to a history of trauma. Have her parents ever stated whether or not she had a leg fracture before she married Schiavo? Or any accidents, injuries, or bone disease?

Stop replying to me with non-answers. I knew what the assumption is, you just repeat it. Thanks for nothing. Why do you keep wasting both our time writing me, but failing to actually say anything.

Instead of just repeating that he never mentioned it until after the case, just admit you either know and wont say or don't know when he first made the claim. Otherwise, you really are just playing games.

At least 12 dozen prominent doctors have said that Terri Schiavo is NOT in a persistent vegetative state and could recover greatly with regular therapy. Also one nurse has stated she has heard Terri speak "help me" and "momma" on numerous occasions.

Not prominent enough for me, right now. They seem shy of publicity.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to determine whether or not someone's cerebral cortex is intact and functioning while they are still alive. This is a medical fact. Just to be sure I had a pathologist confirm it this afternoon for me.

A brain scan might show no missing tissue, but that tissue has nontheless died. No way to know without an autopsy.

Perhaps in some they can see gaps in a brain scan, before the subject dies, so they'd know in that case the cortex, or cortex section, can't work. This wouldn't necessarily end hopes for rehab, if the remaining sections of cortex could handle the tasks the old section did.

I haven't read that brain scans show missing cortex sections in Terri's case. Walker, the internist & professor, says he has seen the court records, and he talks about Terri's missing cerbral cortex replaced by spinal fluid. I still don't know if he's seen that on a scan of Terri's brain, or if he just infers that.

Perhaps the scans show no missing tissue.

We may never know. Greer may seal the records and Mr. Schiavo cremate the corpse.

Oh, my God...it's a never ending merry-go-round. Help me, I have to get off.....

Your are right about that......

What we try to do on FR is argue issues with as much verbal skill and evidence as we can find on both sides.

The reality of this issue is that I have only found one person who was willing to have an exchange without insult and flames.

The reality is, that other than the court decisions there is no evidence presented on the internet media for the Michael side of this argument.

It tells me that this is a manipulated media war instituted by the girls family and that the evidence needed to justify the son in laws position is being withheld due to legal privacy concerns and lawyers advice. The fact is, that the judge knows, the medical case workers know, yet all have made their decision and are silent in the matter, with the exception of a raft of people who have sided with the family yet have no direct connection to the case.

The major media has also looked into this and they too, are not taking a position, (that I can find) nor have they found a printable story to use without the risk of being sued for printing untruths. Their stories are generic. The internet stories are one sided. And no stories exist from the Michael side.

You're right, I think it is time to get off. This is and was a family matter. It should have remained so and I have no business in it.

The courts should never be deciding these issues. Never!

Instead, he chose to be a spineless wimp, and avoid risking his job. Sadly, Don Joe, Jeb Bush didn't choose to behavior thusly, he is following his instincts, and said instincts are those of a politician first, but a spineless, wet finger in the wind wimpy politician. It is that wiminess that endears him to so many democrat voters in Florida. On the other hand, George Bush looks for what is right, acts, then handles the political fallout. Jeb is far different and this revealing trial by fire has exposed Jeb's indecisiveness ... he's so clintonesque! Terri is in such danger now that if the governor waits until Monday to step in, she will suffer and decline anyway, but he will look like 'he tried to save her'. That is political pandering of the worst sort. The other likely scenario is, he will do nothing and claim he was prevented by the courts from acting ... the most likely scenario and the most revealing since it exposes his spineless servitude to the courts, subjugating the executive branch to even malfeasance of judges like Greer and Lazzara. Florida is putrifying and I would set foot nor allow anyone in my family to set foot in that twisted territory. Floridians got for governance just what they deserved; they wanted a middle of the road wimp and they love him. [I'm wondering when Jeb will pull his spittle-moistened fingers down out of the breeze and move to the next pander.]
