Think contract negotiations (flight attendents)

I find it interesting that the planes involved were in Houston and Louisiana. Both states with refineries all along the gulf coast. They wouldn't even have to get control of of the plane. Maybe they timed it so that the planes would crash into the refineries shortly after everyone including the pilots became incapacitated right after the fumes were released. This would set off a massive chain reaction of exploding refineries. I know, get the tin foil out.

It doesn't disprove it. The stuff was found onboard the plane therefore secuirty failed.

I'm currently reading
First Strike; TWA FLight 800 and the Attack on America by Jack Cashill and James Sanders.
Awesome book so far, I was fairly skeptical about the missle theory before reading this. Basically they state that 800 was a terrorist attack that Clinton covered up because it was an election year among other things. Because of him covering this one up the terrorists didn't get the publicity they wanted out of their dastardly deeds so they kicked it up a notch on 9/11 so we wouldn't be able to hide this one.
Oklahoma City a Muslim terrorist act too? I'm convinced that is probably another one of Bill Clinton's "legacies".

While it's folly to assume a cover-up exists by default (as certain Freepers will tell you until your ears fall off), it's just naive to believe that they've never happened.
If the reports of hundreds of witnesses seeing something headed toward the plane just prior to the explosion are TRUE, then you'd have to be in heavy denial to believe that it was an accident. A handful of people may see something that isn't there, especially given the power of suggestion (as with false repressed-memory syndrome). But HUNDREDS? That defies common sense.
That said, all I've ever heard was anectodal (possibly urban-legend-esque) reports of these hundreds of witnesses. I've never actually seen any news stories that reported it. So it's also dangerous to assume 'facts' just because they've been repeated so often (like 'Bush stole the Election' for one).

I haven't read the thread yet, but since non-union (?) Southwest was the recipient, I have to suspect that the unions are behind this. Shades of the Food Lion thing...

There are some VERY credible sources ie: ex-military that are witnesses. Dozens describe seeing basically the same "shooting star" type of projectile in the sky just seconds before the plane exploded.
There was an active attempt by Clinton lackeys to discredit these witnesses. This book has made me a believer. Didn't think there was any way I could possibly hate BC more than I already did, but I do.
Read the book, they present TONS of evidence to back up their claims.

Ok, the problem I have with the "Clinton covered it up" theory is that it would be insanely easy for a future administration to simply reveal the coverup. You think the Bush administration wouldn't love to show that Clinton was complicit in a coverup of a terrorist attack in the US? They would have released any evidence showing precisely that. The only reason two administrations from different parties would coverup something like that is if, say, a US military source fired the missile.
To: mykdsmom
A high school friend of mine flew co-pilot on TWA 747's. He saw the reconstructed wreckage, and inside the company it was widely accepted that the plane was hit by a missile, plain and simple -- the center fuel tank explanation was pure BS.
To: TrappedInLiberalHell
Consider: Can you for one second imagine any airline allowing another 747 off the ground if, in fact, a massive mechanical failure took place? The exposure to potentially bankrupting lawsuits would be more than enough reason for every 747 to be grounded for inspection, if there were an inherent flaw in wiring or engineering.
This never happened. In fact, there was little in actual follow-up by the airline industry after this supposed conclusion was reached...
To: diamondjoe
Well the current administration hasn't exactly dissed the Clintion administration for anything. Including the stupid vandalism of the executive offices etc. that they could have gone after them for.
As far as the theory that it could have been US military firing upon the plane, it's entirely possible, they may cover that the further I get into the book. I'm only about 1/3 of the way through now but there were multiple military subs, ships and planes in the area at the time. The FBI has lied about these too even though there were muliple eyewitnesses.

Duhhhhh. The fact that they were found on the freakin planes proves that security sucks. But what do you expect when you give burgerflippers a badge and a gun?

You don't need to blind all of them. All you need to do is block passengers from approaching the front of the plane. I think with enough hijackers (note that Flight 93 only had 4, while the other three had 5), this can be done. If they could just reinforce cockpit doors and arm pilots, then the hijackers would not have any motivation to hijack the plane. They might threaten to kill passengers unless the crew opened the cockpit doors, which would obviously require the cockpit crew to make the agonizing decision to sacrifice the lives of any and all passengers in order to prevent a 9/11 repeat. The only probple with the armed pilots ( and before I get flamed, I am for arming pilots) as I see it is as follows. Have you ever been in a cockpit of a jet? Most of these are cramped areas. In fact, in many jets, the pilot and co-pilot have to almost climb over controls to get into their seats. Go to any aviation site that has pictures and look at cockpit pictures. My idea would be to make the female flight attendants were thigh holstered .380 automatics. We would have to make sure that they all wear dresses for quick accesss of the weapon....and the other perk is watching those great looking legs......
