If the Cubs and Red Sox played a series right now for nothing more than to see whose curse is worse, it would draw more of an audience than the Yankees and Marlins. Now, THAT is a GREAT idea --- this year only.
I do believe you are right. Many, many folks were hoping to see that World Series. A great entrepreneur could probably swing that ...
Unfortunately, by this time, probably both of the losing team's players have incapacitated themselves and have already left for their vacations in Brazil or something like that.

Hey, I have to have SOMETHING to say. My "dream" Series officially did the Coriolis Maneuver down the local soilpipe a few minutes ago ;)

You'd never guess what was going on shortly before Boone came to the plate.
She got the double-whammy.
Give it another couple of hours, then one for luck.
Guess you might call this game "the curse of my babe" nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.

These teams were perfectly suited for one another and could it have gone either way. One of the most exciting games I've seen in quite awhile.

mariano rocks. He's like ICE.
His career playoff ERA is like 0.87!

Well, I should be happy for my homeboy Steinbrenner, but I'm not. Anyway, this was just what the majors needed. These were two outstanding league championship series.
Remember this about the Fish: they've never lost a post-season series...

Well, that's exactly what I'm talking about.I understand. Someone just unfurled a "Whose Curse Is Worse?" banner in front of a Fox camera, so I posted it. I don't believe Babe Ruth is making deals with God or that billy goats control destiny. In a very close series, the Yankees had that little something extra when it counted the most. That's all there was to it.

I wonder how much Kennedy lost on it.

About the only consolation I know of at this point. Thanks:)

Just over at a well known liberal site. The Sox loss is painful to most of them. Good. Neither Boston nor New York is known as a bastion of conservative principle. Some folks who rooted for Boston are more conservative than the Yankee fans!
To: StarFan
Frankly, when I heard the line-up going into this inning I thought "oh no, Boone. Yee of little faith. Same here... I'm thinking the Sox wouldn't have much to worry about with Boone at bat. The Yankees ARE a great team - there's no denying that. I just REALLY, REALLY wanted to see a Red Sox-Cubs World Series.
Oh well.. As they say in Boston (and probably in Chicago, too): "Wait 'till NEXT yeahhh!"
