I'm thinking he could grant her clemency, or failing that he could call out the National Guard.
If the NG won't show up, there's always the State Militia.
He could also show up on Florida TV and demand an impeachment of this judge.
The Bully Pulpit is a wonderful thing. Let's see if any of the Bush Boys have any cojones.

I concur.
It is a crime to have kept her in that state for so long.
All apparently due to the parents refusal to accept reality. What a shame.

The local police department is very much in evidence guarding the entrances of the Florida version of state sanctioned murder chambers.
Formerly known as Hospice.
While nobody was watching the watchers, they have elevated themselves to Godhood by virtue of insane legal precedents as opposed to the will of the people.
If Terri Schiavo had been criminally convicted of murder, Jeb Bush could stay her execution.Since she is just an innocent brain damaged woman, the courts can order her killed off with impunity.
When the law has been so obviously perverted, what do a free people do next?
Rhetorical question.

Obviously not. He washed his hands like Pilate the other day. Now calls it troubling, what's being done to this woman, but won't denounce this patent act of murder.
As I've said before, Eichmann respected the letter of the law too. But there is a higher law. When someone is being murdered (which she is) and you can save her (which he can), you don't hesitate to step on a judge's toes or abide by the legal system that brought about this abomination. You DO something.
He better never run for President. If I ever get him in an election booth, I'm writing in TERRI SCHINDLER.

Have you bothered to check out any of the information regarding Terri Schiavo posted on numerous threads and various websites?
Or do you just "know" your casual opinion is based on fact?
You must have an extraordinary trust in government and media, and applaud unquestionably their ethics.
Why waste your time on a website like this?

The medical data I have read says she is vegitative.
The wishes os the patient should be honored.
Frankly, I really think you folks are making a huge mountain out of nothing.
Emotional hysteria is how I read it.
Sorry, that is how I see it.

I'm new around here. What exactly is a bump?
While we're at it, what is a ping?
To: wirestripper
Geez, wirestripper, you are the one island of sanity in this whole thread. Emotional hysteria is exactly what's going on here. Thank goodness most Freepers aren't like the folks on these Terri threads. These people need some therapy. I love how, based on no FACTUAL evidence at all, and after these Terri proceedings have been thru many courts, and reviewed by many judges, and doctors, so many here accuse Terri's husband of murder, say how they'd like to kill him, and speak with terms of great violence. You'd think if Terri's husband was a murderer, at least one of the many doctors and judges who have reviewed this case at some point, would have noticed that little fact. Also, if Terri is in some fashion cognizant, then at any point she could have been asked if her husband did this to her. She could squeeze a hand if yes, or nod or somehow reply. Why doesn't she? Because a good part of her brain stem is gone, and is just fluid. Terri's husband doesn't have to have her die to silence her, she's already silent. And those "broken bones". Terri had severe osteoporosis, which causes fractures in bones in those susceptible to this disease. I think most of the folks here need a shrink bigtime. Go ahead now and trash me. It's immaterial because I'm getting out of here. Dont' want a bunch of freaked out zealots for compatriots. I especially love how you turn on one of your own, Jeb Bush. Even he can't do enough to placate you overzealous haters. Yes, you guys are an unhealthy lot. Bah, and I'm out of here. Flame away, you guys are real good at it, and vicious to boot.
To: WhiteGuy
Let's bribe Terri's husband into giving up his claim. IMO no amount of money can stop this evil monster from wanting his wife dead. She knows too much, and the chance that she may be able to talk in the future with therapy is something he is not willing to risk.
To: wirestripper
What "medical data" have you read?
Frankly, I think you, as in you and people like you,are good little sheeple and deserve the fate that awaits you.
The wishes of the patient?
You mean the "comatose" patient who can show emotion, recognise friend/foe, try to speak and who is now deprived of basic sustenance because her husband wants her dead?
And yes, all of us emotionally hysterical people, including the current Governor of Florida, are just making a mountain out of nothing.
Sheesh, try to educate yourself, even partially, on the topic before you post what I am sure is your unemotional considered opinion on the judicially ordered starvation of a non-terminal disabled woman in Florida.

WOW!
WHo's calling who angry?
Sheesh...
I feel VERY "emotional" when someone who VERY DEFINATELY looks VERY ALIVE and able to respond to various stimuli is BEING STARVED TO DEATH?
BTW...if you read through the Terri thread you'll notice that I have never posted before.
So, please don't accuse me of hatred, or flaming or turning on my own.
I say the same thing when talking about abortion..if you really think the fetus is a baby (which I do)how can YOU NOT be emotional?
(same story here...I REALLY think she is NOT a vegetable after doing plenty of looking and asking)

All apparently due to the parents refusal to accept reality. What a shame. If you think that this woman wants to die, then why did she TRY to get out of a chair when a therapist talking to her over the phone told her she would die if she didn't get out of that chair? Her father said she almost got out of that chair.
Next time, why don't learn the FACTS before posting such utter nonsense and making yourself look like a fool.
To: wirestripper
The wishes os the patient should be honored. She would have already died if she lost her will to live ---- there is no extraordinary care being given or that needs to be given ---- all that was keeping her alive was food ---- which is what all of us need -- and an occasional antibiotic. Nothing extraordinary in either. There is no evidence at all that she wants to die, her parents don't want her to starve to death, the only one who wants her dead --- is her husband (apparently her owner) who has complete say over the matter. And he has a lover of 10 years who is bearing him children --- and you can bet the lover wants the wife dead and gone. Plus --- there's always the insurance money --- if he divorces his poor wife, he wont' get that.

"Vegetative" is a medical term. She has been in that state for thirteen years while her parents have fought this decision.
She has been dead for thirteen years. That little bit of grey matter that she is using is the same stuff a baby uses in the womb and even it is apparently damaged.
There is no Terri. There has not been one for thirteen long years and the only reason her body is alive is due to medical intervention. All this baloney about her trying to talk and recognizing faces is emotional hope and failed wishes.
This sort of thing happens every day in nearly every hospital on the planet. Usually it is settled and done within days or weeks and the loss is mourned, the funeral held and the body is lay-ed to rest.
But, not here. Oh no!
For thirteen years they have kept this body with less ability than a common garden snail in this bed as they fight in the courts.
It is insanity. It is wrong! It is stupid human crap that is not based on any reasoned explanation.
Let her go.

Yeah, that's why all the courts have sided with the husband, because they've noticed he's a murderer. You are blinded by your own emotions.
To: wirestripper
The wishes os the patient should be honored. She wants to live. Her family is honoring her wishes while her "husband" is trying to have her killed.
