I must say that I have had a lot of fun bantering with you guys during the game. My wife doesn't care one whit about baseball, so I rarely have anyone to share the game with. You know, you Red Sox fans aren't half bad, once you get to know you. And, I almost feel sorry for your plight (I said almost). See you tomorrow.

Yes, if the Cubs win tonight, the BoSox/Yank game is the same time as today. Otherwise, its 8:15 in the evening.

Yes, the Cubs win tonite, they win the NLCS.

Yeah, I know. Sounds like the Fox interview guy answered my question. If the Cubs go to game 7, they get primetime and Yanks get the afternoon game, it sounds like. Otherwise Yanks get primetime.

I'd (almost) wish for a game 7 just to see a Clemmons / Pedro matchup.

Anyone seen this yet?

Associated Press NEW YORK -- Pedro Martinez, Manny Ramirez and Karim Garcia all appealed the fines imposed on them following Game 3 of the AL championship series.

Martinez was fined $50,000, Ramirez $25,000 and Garcia $10,000 on Sunday, a day after a series of confrontations between the New York Yankees and Red Sox at Boston's Fenway Park.

Martinez, Boston's starting pitcher, hit Garcia with a pitch in the fourth inning, and Garcia slid hard into Red Sox second baseman Todd Walker.

In the bottom of the inning, Ramirez took offense to a pitch from Roger Clemens and started toward the mound, bat in hand. That set off a bench-clearing brawl during which New York coach Don Zimmer lunged at Martinez, who threw him to the ground.

Union lawyer Bob Lenaghan said the appeals were filed Tuesday with the commissioner's office. Because the penalties didn't involve suspensions, there is no urgency to hold a hearing.

"We haven't discussed scheduling," Lenaghan said.

Bob Watson, baseball's vice president in charge of discipline, issued the fines. Appeals would be heard by Bob DuPuy, baseball's chief operating officer.

Zimmer, who was fined $5,000, apologized Sunday for his actions.

Yanks need a Marlin's win to get a days rest and get out of this pathetic hitting slump.

No, I'm happy. I don't need to see Wakefield in game seven and the Yanks would much rather face a well-rested Burkett than Pedro if his arm was falling off.
