BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi guerrillas ambushed a U.S. military convoy northeast of Baghdad Monday killing one American soldier and wounding two others, the U.S. military said.
The death brought to 97 the number of U.S. soldiers killed by hostile fire since President Bush declared major combat over on May 1. The soldier was the third to be killed within 24 hours.

Meanwhile, back in the States, 110 Americans have died in automobile accidents in the same period.

Damn.
I hope we catch that bastard Saddam, gut him like a fish and drag his entrails down the streets of Baghdad.

I don't understand why we can't just put a cordon around specific areas and then inspect, rout out etc in each area. Once an area is "clean" then NOBODY gets in or out of that area without proper ID and inspection. If anyone tries differently--they are "dispatched" to their 2 Virginians....
I do not advocate cutting and running like the Libbies want, but this daily loss is giving them more ammo against us...we need to get MORE TOUGHER!!
God Bless our Troops, "W" and AMERICA (and RUSH)!

Hurry the day the only concern our guys have with Saddam is how to arrange the mortician's putty on his TOW missile-disfigured face.

Uh Oh...I'm not gonna get into the pros and cons of WEST vs. "normal" Virginians...No sirreee, not now, not ever. I learned my lesson with the "North Carolina-South Carolina" debate some years ago...There is only ONE Carolina, I'll let you figure out which witch is which...!

Everybody's right in pointing out that we must stay the course and that the media is exagerating the threat. But I can't get over thinking that we ought to be able to stop this, or at least curtail it. I think it's the lack of action that's giving some Americans a case of the nerves. What are we doing to root this out?
We aren't having this problem in Aghanistan, why Iraq?
To: PatrioticCowboy
Anyone have any numbers on how many Iraqi's have been killed since major military missions concluded. If 100 of our guys have been killed can I assume that atleast 1500 of their's are dead?

Meanwhile, back in the States, 110 Americans have died in automobile accidents in the same period. Uh, what do vehicle collisions in the United States have to do with American's being killed in terrorist attacks 8000 miles away in Iraq ?
