Trump sent a message by targeting Bill Cassidy. In defeat, Cassidy delivered one back

Cassidy signaled in his concession speech, without mentioning Trump, that he could spend the final months of his term being more of a thorn in Trump’s side – or at least more openly critical of his party.

“Let me just set the record straight: Our country is not about one individual. It is about the welfare of all Americans and it is about our Constitution,” Cassidy said. “And if someone doesn’t understand that and attempts to control others through using the levers of power, they’re about serving themselves. They’re not about serving us. And that person is not qualified to be a leader.”

Isn’t this what Cassidy is doing himself by being a thorn in the President’s side?

Trump led the Army that took out Cassidy.

“Jeffry Lane Flake was born in Snowflake, Arizona, the son of Nerita (née Hock) and Dean Maeser Flake.

His birth town was named in part for his great-great-grandfather, Mormon pioneer William J. Flake.”

Bill Cassidy is a medical doctor

Oh, if only I could make a medical appointment with Cassidy. I would wear my MAGA hat and see if he can still be "fair" "equitable" with his level of attention and care.

You have to wonder if Trump could not achieved the same result without being such a loudmouth and giving Cassidy an excuse to switch parties for the rest of his term.

I’ll probably go back to practicing medicine. He’s got a good job waiting if he wants it. Not sure why you think. The only qualification he has is working at McDonald’s. not everybody’s cut out to be a politician.

“...giving Cassidy an excuse to switch parties for the rest of his term”

What would Trump’s utterances matter if Cassidy was a man of principles?

Can somebody run a roll of duct tape over to the White House?

Following his departure from the ambassadorship, Flake relocated to Utah to join the board of the World Trade Center Utah. He also remains a prominent voice in political media, often offering commentary on international relations, the future of the Republican party, and the state of American democracy.

A regular Delphi oracle he is...

Not much of a message. Everybody in Congress thinks they have a message for us. Most of them don’t.

“attempts to control others through using the levers of power”

That’s what politicians and judges try to do.

That’s what juries that award punitive damages try to do.

What’s worse is politicians have prevented affordable health insurance from being sold. One doctor politician has failed in years of office to correct that.

Thomas Massie says he & his team are hoping for bad weather on Primary Day, May 19th. Presumably, he thinks this will cause Ed’s voting bloc, the 45 & older crowd, to stay home instead of voting.

Maybe on his way out Cassidy can write up a PPACA replacement bill.

Maybe when federal elected officials have nothing left to lose they can finally do the jobs they were elected to do.

“Insults only bother me if they come from somebody of character and integrity,” Cassidy said. “I find that people of character and integrity don’t spend their time attacking people on the internet.”

Cassidy just condemned the democrats, the media, the entire left, and himself. Maybe the POS, by using the limiting word “internet”, thinks he can get around his many appearances on the legacy media slamming Trump during the Republican primaries during 2024.

Cassidy knew Trump would not be convicted in the impeachment effort. But he voted the way he did to send a message to someone, to let them know he was willing to play ball.

“or at least more openly critical of his party”

Each and every senator can submit bills. He had years to make his work, his party and his country better.

He could have helped Trump, who needs a helpful Congress.
