Trump on trial: Poll shows 3 in 5 people want ex-president to face trial before 2024 contest
Washington Examiner ^ | August 25, 2023 | Julia Johnson

Most people say former President Donald Trump should go to trial for his various cases regarding classified documents and attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election prior to the 2024 contest, in which he appears likely to be the Republican nominee.

According to a new POLITICO Magazine/Ipsos poll, 62% of people said they believe Trump should stand trial for his storage of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, for which he was indicted in June, prior to the 2024 presidential election in November.

Sixty-one percent also believed he should stand trial for cases regarding alleged attempts to subvert the 2020 presidential election, which he was indicted for this month, prior to the 2024 contest.

Most people claimed to understand somewhat or very well the charges laid out against the former president. However, fewer respondents said so than when measured in June. More indictments have been handed down since the June survey.

Further, more than half of Americans said the trials should take place before the primaries in 2024, which are less than five months away.

Independents, though, increasingly think the trial should occur before the presidential election in November. According to the poll, 63% said so, and only 14% disagreed. Twenty-two percent reported they didn't know.

Under our system of justice, you don’t have to prove your innocence. You are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Biden administration.

Do you think it’s common to jail your adversaries to put the warning out to whomever..
Checking on gun shops
Arresting anyone who speaks and they don’t like it.
Wide open borders
Weaponizing the gov

You were spot on during the pandemic.

Thank you. Sorry we've diverged. I've remained true to the same anti-Plandemic principles, and just believe Trump sold us out at this point. I think most people probably even agree with that, but just don't see continued gain of function and fake vaccines as important as I think they are.

Of course. And as I said, “I hope he can prove his innocence, not only for his sake, but for ours, as all Republicans are now on trial by proxy.”

Of course not. I just like the DeSantis plan of using lethal force at the border, if not chasing the cartels into Mexico if needed, a lot batter than Trump’s “I will finally build a wall” pledge. You’re welcome to disagree of course.

You’ll get a lot of push back from sovereignty sensitive Latin American countries particularly Central American. We did a lot of “intervention” there in the 1920s its still deeply resented. First seal our border, then find some common ground with Mexico to do joint ‘military policing’ of their north to root out the cartels. You would think they would like to have actual governing sovereignty of their north?

If we had a government and jury pools which believed in that principle Trump would have no problems. Maybe the resulting juries will have a flash of enlightenment before they render verdicts.

DeSantis met with Kemp.. Kemp is not the person to go see in an election.
Kemp is not a person to trust..
Low down deep state.

He doesn’t have to prove his innocence under our laws and jurisprudence. If he really does have to prove his innocence then we have truly descended into tyranny.

As we have learned from the treatment of the J6 political prisoners, the judges are the most corrupt and partisan of all.

Probably one of the most glaring incidents with impeachment was the conviction of Bill Clinton, the main charge being obstruction of justice.

On October 8, 1998, the United States House of Representatives voted to authorize a broad impeachment inquiry, thereby initiating the impeachment process. The Republican controlled House of Representatives had decided this with a bipartisan vote of 258–176, with 31 Democrats joining Republicans.

Since Ken Starr had already completed an extensive investigation, the House Judiciary Committee conducted no investigations of its own into Clinton’s alleged wrongdoing and held no serious impeachment-related hearings before the 1998 midterm elections even though impeachment was one of the major issues in those elections.

And because it was not finalized before the election the Democrats picked up five seats in the House, but the Republicans still maintained majority control. So in Trumps case, they are using it as a smoke screen to buy votes with the public and you can be sure they don’t want to rock the boat. And they have been slowly trying to kull both Trump and Biden so it will open it up to an even playing field they can manipulate. And their real candidate hasn’t even been a gleam in their eyes yet.

some folks may still be satisfied with a RINO rubber-stamp-for-the-DNC candidate

it appears that fewer and fewer are

given just how aggregious the Election Theft operation was in 2020 PLUS the DNC operatives’ continued Big Lie assaults on President Trump

when they come up with just one significant fact of wrong-doing, okay I will reconsider

right now, all the DNC liars are achieving is to drive more and more American voters to supporting PDJT

if only as a statement that they want a return to fair, unrigged elections

nothing against Central America but their system for selecting politial leaders has not done well by their countries, or citizens. Not at all. We don’t need a repeat of 2020 here.

In DC Trump faces both an ideological judge and ideological jury pool. Dems claim that Voir Dire will compensate, but the defense has a limited number of strikes, and in fact the defense lawyers can’t read minds. Roger Stone got a DC jury forema’am that had posted anti-Trump stuff on social media when she had lived outside of DC.

What about the others who have been indicted along with Trump? Who pays their legal bills? It is far better for them to have these sham cases thrown out sooner rather than later.

Q12. If you voted in the 2020 presidential election, who did you vote for?

Did not vote 20%

Jordan’s hearings aren’t an attempt to weaponize the government? Same for Comer? Why shouldn’t gun shops be audited? Have you been arrested for speaking your mind? I just crossed the border. It was anything but wide open. And finally, the closest Biden’s main adversary has been to jail was last night when Trump surrendered for booking. He given given preferential treatment and was out in minutes. People booked on a lot less spend much more time, including being held in a cell for hours. And if Biden is doing what you’re claiming, Trump and associates would just be jailed without the benefit of trial and process.

The real issue here isn’t Trump. He is a distraction. The real issue, the one you NEVER see this individual or his confederates take the GOP to task for is the Rino control of the party. its easier to dis Trump than take an active, concerted effort to rid the party of the Mitt Romneys, Mitch Mcconnells, Lindsey Grahams ECT ect.

I don’t support Donald J Trump because of a cult of personality. I support him because the man unlike the Rinos here named, has never lied to me or pretended to be something he wasnt. The promises he has made to me he has kept.

Meanwhile, I wait with anticipation for Romney’s next vote to put a Democrat on the SC who can’t define what a woman is. I’m growing cobwebs waiting for graham to fulfill his promise of committee hearings that will get to the bottom of democrat corruption. And good old Mitch McConnell will undoubtedly order his party to raise that debt ceiling against the majority of voters wishes. They know they are safe. And they know they will never be held accountable for their actions. Why? Because they are allowed to play their rank and file at their whim. Trump is Just the current game and they feel safe in destroying his life and doing their best to destroy MAGA along with him. The only one of these jerks who has a shred of fear is Graham. and during a rally this Summer he was booed practically off the stage. Gosh maybe their is hope after all!!!!!
