Cell phone question. I have an unconnected cell phone I want to use text. Is there a way to do normal texting without a cell phone line?

Connect it to a home internet (Or any internet you can access) and you should be able to use it fine. Just when you are not in range of a Source, like driving in a car, you won't be able to.

You need a WiFI connection and download an app that allows free texting such as Google Voice. Google, there’s lots out there.

Did you get a new phone or cut service. If you have a cell account and just updated phone then yes for sure. If you cut the line then not sure. Maybe can use internet but not sure about text.

The phone needs to be activated - with a number - so as to transmit and receive. That said, you don’t have to connect to your provider, you can connect to a local WIFI or something, but your phone needs a “number”.

It doesn’t have a cell phone numberWell, one thing is certain, you can't receive texts or phone calls without one.
Isn't that kinda like having a car without wheels?... LOL!

1) Go and get a
Google Voice number.
2) As long as you are connected to wireless, you can send and receive text messages.

How can I get a number?
I bought this it was a tracphone many years ago to use as a podcast holder for my car.
There was probably a phone number that came with it.
Where?
