One of the things happening in South Dakota is an infection rate that's among the worst in the nation, at about 8,000 cases per 100,000 people.
In Vermont, another small, rural state with a Republican governor, Gov. Phil Scott has embraced safety measures, and the differences are pretty stark. Like South Dakota, Vermont has fewer than 1 million residents, most of whom don't live in cities. It has about 500 cases per 100,000 people. That's the lowest rate in the nation.

My mom looked up SD numbers and it’s 851 new cases. Less than 1% of pop. Not sure how NPR is getting 8k of 100k. And of course, where are the recovery numbers? That’s the real numbers the media should be highlighting.

This flu bug has been 'tabulated' unlike any other flu bug in history. Its impossible to know the true scope of this bug. We know the death counts attributed to Covid are inflated, but by how much?
We have the CDC accounting that only 6% of CoVid deaths were due to CoVid alone. But 6% is probably too low ball of a number (because even if the person who died had some other ailment, its probably fair to believe that it was CoVid that pushed them over the edge - at least for some cases), and 100% is obviously too high (since we have heard of people who died of motorcycle accidents as being counted as CoVid deaths).
So we don't know the real number - and we probably never will - but I'll just classify it as malarkey reported by the lying dog faced pony soldiers in the Media.
C'mon man, lets get along with our lives.
Wash your hands frequently. Take vitamins c and d. Take zinc and bioquercitin (or hcq, if you can get it) - and live your lives.
There have been 819 deaths with COVID in SD. 461 of them in the 80+ age group. KELOLAND.com (Sioux Falls tv/radio) has a very good COVID section with lots of charts and graphics. I keep telling my kids that we are so lucky to live in SD where we are treated as adults. One is starting to cross MN colleges off her list due to not being able to do campus visits and the latest MN lockdown decrees. Noem is definitely being targeted because she is everything the left hates...
IOW, some segments of the population wash their hands more than others.
Gov. Noem needs to review who is running her health department. This appears to be a setup against Ms. Noem.......

If you live on the Rez, I believe you can come and go as needed.
The fast way from Rapid City to Gordon NE, Rushville NE, or Martin SD is through the Rez. That movement has been blocked by the closure.
We actually have a temporary highway sign that attempts to explain the closure east on highway 44. I unfortunately did not take a picture of it when I passed by Sunday.

Like the election, it all depends on who’s doing the counting. It only takes 1,000 leftists working in health care to ramp up the numbers by calling everything covid. Vermont is safely leftist so there’s not much reason to try and change the look of it. SD is red so the left has a reason to make it look bad.
False positives come to mind.
Lot of old folks in Indian Country, lot of diabetes, bad diet habits-too many carbs, families living together, lack of clean water, remote areas.
Another group hard hit is Hispanics, esp those of Mexican heritage (most Mexicans are part Indian)
Look up the working population of SD versus Vermont. About 100K or so more in SD, I think. I’d argue that more people working will cause the virus to spread more widely.

ALL the PCR tests being done on people all over the world reflect NOTHING about illness, infection, contagion, or transmission.
NH has essentially no restrictions and you don’t hear much about it.
