President Trumps mental acuity again became a hot button topic this week after the president boasted acing what many called an easy cognitive test.
If youre in the office of the presidency, we have to be sharp, President Trump told Fox News medical correspondent, Dr. Marc Siegel, on Wednesday. It was 30 or 35 questions. The first questions are very easy, the last questions are much more difficult.
Trump said he requested the test a little less than a year ago to silence critics who have repeatedly called his mental fitness into question.
Trump cited as one of the more difficult questions one that required him to repeat a set of words in the correct order.

This reminds me of a brief test of math, grammar and spelling that temporary agencies used to give me for secretarial positions. I always aced them but just thought they were very simple token type tests and couldn’t understand why the agencies were so effusive over my score.
However, many years later when I was in the position to hire someone, I got the test scores back from about a dozen applicants, none of them aced it so I hired the person who only missed one question, and she was brilliant. She had been a data entry clerk. I hired her to manage reporting from Excel which she had never used before. I showed her the basics and she picked it up and was able to deliver very sophisticated reports in very short order.
Look for Montreal Cognitive Test.
I know I wouldn’t pass it.
My short term memory, especially remembering People’s names went bye bye after my first round of Chemotherapy fifteen years ago.
I also have a lot of “it’s on the tip of my Tongue” moments.
Oh well, I can still remember Song Lyrics from the 60’s. LOL
Sweet. Thank you.

What's it say that our president can recall the words YEARS later?
Dat's pretty dern cognitive 😎.
Don “Dumbo” Lemon don’t even know the difference between a rhino and a hippo. How stupid can one get?
He is African American but then he don’t know sh*t about Africa.
Tucker took hik apart last night.
With someone with his business background and expertise he is bound to score perfect.
Thank you.
It’s a paper based test and requires another person to be the tester. http://www.memorylosstest.com/dl/moca-test-english-7-1.pdf
I’m fairly knowledgeable about Dr. Kildare.
The kicker is that President Trump had the confidence to basically give himself a mini cognitive test on camera for all to witness.
These kinds of questions seem simple but this can be deceiving. Remembering a number or word sequence, or counting backwards, or reversing the order or reciting a tongue twister - requires a the ability to focus, concentrate, comprehend ideas, organize thoughts, memorize and recall at will.
Saying the alphabet backwards for example - sounds simple - but try it sometime.
He could easily have taken the safe way out and just described the test in abstract terms, but instead he chose to demonstrate his ability to recall that list in front of the camera - and do it several times.
If he had stumbled, forgot one, or gotten them even slightly out of order - it would have backfired on him - but he bet on himself and and he won.
He basically threw out a challenge to Biden that goes far beyond just taking that test behind closed doors. He challenged him to demonstrate his cognitive abilities for the public in front of live TV cameras... i.e., a debate.
Masterful.
Almost forgot counting from 100 backward by 7. Hell, I would have a problem with that on my best day much less under pressure. Not sure how many words I could say in a minute that begins with the letter F.
List of words to remember:
obama, benghazi, death, ambassador, coverup.
or:
hillary, email, server, illegal, scot free.
or:
biden, feelemup, where, am, I
If the test is so hard that most people with normal cognative skills have a hard time passing it then how can it be used to diagnose dementia?
From the Real Deal.....
Trump took the golf manager of his Palm Beach golf course for a ride and told him what he wanted done on each hole for the following year..had nothing written down...the manager wrote everything down....Trump called a few months later and went down the list and asked what was done so far
