House Democratic leaders facing liberal calls for impeaching President Trump are confronting increasing pressure from an unlikely faction: Republicans who appear eager to goad them into it.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her leadership team have repeatedly sought to defuse the appeals for impeachment hearings, deeming them premature, and some Democrats sense the Republicans are setting a political trap to boost their ally in the White House.
But recent stonewalling actions by the administration have only fueled the liberal push to oust the president, complicating leadership efforts to keep a lid on the campaign.

Right. Blame Republicans for the left’s nonstop impeachment talk, now that the Mueller report exonerates Trump.
Dont throw us in that briar patch!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Republicans are just following Alinsky Rule #4, “force your enemies to live by their own rules”.
Democrats say Bill Barr is lying to Congress, then he must be impeached.
Democrats say President Trump obstructed justice, then he must be impeached.
Democrats say Russia interfered in the election and that that’s an act of war, then they must declare war on Russia.
Right now, we have Democrats saying many things but not backing them up with actions. In Politics, that looks like gutlessness, and yes, voters notice ... so the Democrats have kind-of painted themselves into a corner here
...any doubt their sick in the head?
2016. Best election ever.
ABSS (another BS Story)
The insane part of the left (well, MOST insane) will not vote for the D in 2020 without SOME kind of absurd action by dems in congress.
That’s great.
Fine. Blame the hangman. See if I care.
Just do it, Nazi, Nads and Schitt...
Do it or stfu...
A good excuse for not following up on their threats
I suspect there’s some truth in this claim, but for two different reasons. The constant Never-Trumpers like Senators Romney, Murkowski, Lee, Collins and a few others, would almost certainly vote for impeachment and, given enough of them, combined with Democrat votes, could actually convict and remove the president. The other group would be those who believe that impeaching the president would be the death of the Democrat Party. I think either option is pretty damned dangerous and could lead to unintended consequences.
Nancy, your own folks are talking IMPEACHMENT. Don’t blame us!
Murkowski, Lee, the Bishop and Collins would look out across the nation and see that 98% of republicans would separate their heads from their shoulders for voting for removal and reluctantly change their votes - yes, with a lot of handwringing, but change their votes nonetheless
I call BS on this because the GOP isnt smart enough to think like this.
Lee might be the best we can do in Utah.
Which is why they’ve been compelled to change their votes and support Trump in other circumstances, right?
I don’t think you fully appreciate the extent to which they are owned and operated by their paymasters, nor the fact that they don’t give a flying f**k what their constituents think. I’m 63 years old and I’ve spent a pretty significant portion of my career at the White House, on Capitol Hill and at various agencies in the DC area and I have a much different perspective of politicians than most people. These days, I spend a few hours walking the halls on Capitol Hill and visiting members and I feel like I need a shower.
Sorry, but I am VERY hesitant to attribute altruistic motivation to ANY member of Congress these days.
No senate republicans are voting for impeachment
We’ll have to agree to disagree on that point. If you think Mitt Romney won’t, you’re dead-ass wrong. Likewise if you think no one will join him.
