The senator-elect wouldnt say why he didnt have a problem when Trump was falsely accusing Barack Obama of being born in Africa.
Sen.-elect Mitt Romney (R-Utah) may have criticized Donald Trump in a Washington Post op-ed, but he apparently didnt have a problem accepting the presidents endorsement during last years Senate race.
During a CNN interview on Wednesday, Jake Tapper pressed the onetime Republican presidential candidate on whether that was a mistake.
Tapper pointed to a Twitter message from 2016 ― two years before Romney accepted the presidents endorsement in 2018 ― in which Romney seemed to reject the idea wholesale. Romney claimed in the tweet that he wouldnt have accepted Trumps endorsement in the 2012 presidential race if Trump had made the same sort of inappropriate comments about the Klan, Muslims and people with disabilities he became known for later, according to Raw Story.
Now, some people point out, OK, he hadnt said those things, but he was the nations leading birther, pushing the lie that Barack Obama, the first African-American president, was born in Africa, Tapper said. Again, a lie. And you accepted his endorsement even though that was his political claim to fame.
Then Tapper asked Romney point-blank: Was that a mistake?
The senator-elect tried to slip out of that potentially awkward question by saying, You know, Im sure Ive made a lot of mistakes.

It had to be manufactured.
These things take time.
He knew they were Deep Staters & Swamp Creatures; wonder why he knows and what’s up his sleeve?
Barack Obama was the one claiming to have been born in Africa until it wasn't useful to him anymore.
I am curious to see how the media treats Kamala Harris who has BOTH parents born out of the United States.”
She could be a NBC IF her parents were naturalized US citizens BEFORE her birth in the US.
Note that NBCs can be born to non NBC parents.
That said I do not believe Kamala Harris is either eligible or qualified to be US POTUS.
Huff ‘n Puff Post hits another dribbler....
Jake was so close to asking the right question but he failed. He should have asked if Trump endorsing Willard was a mistake.
Romney is a deep state snake.
McNo-name 2.0.
