President Donald Trump will visit Springfield on Friday for a Make America Great Again Rally, his second stop in Springfield in the past year.
Trump's 2020 re-election campaign is holding the rally at JQH Arena, 685 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway. Doors open at 4 p.m., and the event begins at 6:30 p.m. People interested in attending can register at donaldjtrump.com.
The event comes after Trump, citing Hurricane Florence, canceled a re-election rally in Cape Girardeau scheduled for last Thursday. Friday will mark the third public event Trump has held in Missouri. He went to Springfield and St. Charles last year to advocate for tax cuts.
The rally will look to boost the U.S. Senate campaign of Republican Attorney General Josh Hawley, who is running against incumbent Claire McCaskill. The two faced off in their first debate last week in St. Louis, and recent polling shows the race essentially a toss-up.
Trump won Missouri by 19 points in 2016, and support for him in general is stronger in Southwest Missouri. However, some groups have planned to protest his rally on Friday.
One group plans to wear plaid shirts, a nod to a man whose facial expressions at a Trump rally in Montana went viral. The man, Tyler Linfesty, was asked to leave. The plaid shirt group that will protest Friday on Tuesday had 57 people marked as going on Facebook, with another 374 interested.

The Missouri State University College Democrats also have a protest planned, with 284 people marked as going and another 1,400 interested on Facebook. The College Democrats organizers said on Facebook their focus will be on the Hawley-McCaskill race.
"If we want to oppose Trump politics, then we cannot allow candidates like Hawley to take seats in our government," the group said on Facebook. "In the eyes of our organization, Hawley’s views do not match those of Missouri State University."

Remember Trump supporters in Las Vegas, Nevada, POTUS, Trump has a massive rally tonight in the Las Vegas Convention Center, doors open at 7:00 EST) time and rally begins at 10:00 PM (EST), two (2) tickets on Trump for POTUS web site.
Also...keep in mind it has just been announced that FNCs, Sean Hannity will conduct an interview with POTUS, Trump. I do not know the time schedule, but, I suspect, it will take place before the Rally begins. Be there!!! Support, the GOP. Support, POTUS, Trump, Support, GOP, GOTV (Get Out The Vote), Go, HELLER!!!
I am hoping that the good folks of Missouri and the surrounding nearby states turn out in the same massive, supportive numbers as the good citizens of Las Vegas did last evening. To me...Trump and a few other guys & gals are all we have to keep the USA nation Republic alive and well!!!

Hundreds & hundreds of Trumpsters are already awaiting entrance...with hundreds of other folks arriving every minute. It will be another massive, fun filled Trump “BlockBuster” rally tonight. Unfortunately we are not going to make it. The AC compressor went out on our car. I got a new one put on but in the meantime I punched a hole in the radiator.
Anyone out there that wants to come help me fix this thing would be appreciated. I am not a good mechanic as you can see.
