Florida Sen. Marco Rubio said Thursday his presidential campaign wasn't involved in research behind the infamous dirty dossier – a day after President Donald Trump said the campaign's identity will 'probably' be revealed.
Rubio got asked about the dossier amid a new round of intrigue over who paid for the research, after the Washington Post reported that Democratic lawyer Marc Elias hired a political intelligence firm, Fusion GPS, who in turn hired ex-British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, who compiled it.
It has long been reported that a Republican anti-Trump donor initially paid for the research that begat the dossier. But the person's identity, or which campaign they might be connected to, has yet to be revealed.
'I don't know who it was,' Rubio told CNN's Wolf Blitzer when asked about it point-blank.
Blitzer pressed on to confirm Rubio's campaign never funded any of the 'initial research.'
'As far as whether it was my campaign. It wasn't. I was running for president I was trying to win. If I had anything against Donald Trump that was relevant and credible and politically damaging I would have used it. I didn't have it,' Rubio said....

The Cheap Labor Express probably paid for the dossier, the funneling of the money could have been through any of the employees, of which Rubio is but one.
It is coming out and it will be fun to watch it blow up on the perp.

Likely not a campaign at all, but a big donor who maxed out the legal contribution limit and was looking for another way to ‘contribute’. A GOP candidate’s organization paying a known Dem law firm would attract attention and suspicion on all sides.
The money was definitely spent on Yeb!’s behalf, he was supposed to be the Designated Loser.

Number One suspects? Jeb Bush, and yes, the Koch Brothers. But they only went so far, then dropped it long before Christopher Steele ever came onto the scene, and GPS Fusion shopped out the project to several willing prospects.
One of several, which were Russian interests, and another, the Hillary Clinton campaign people, more probably through the John Podesta connection. The Deep State operatives at the FBI, Mueller, Rosenstein and Comey, were apprised of the plot early on, so they could shepherd the process, APPEARING to maintain an “investigation”, but mostly running interference so as little as possible of this whole enterprise would be likely to be seen from the outside.
And you know, if Herself had won the election, NONE of this would have surfaced.

Typical slimy non-denial denial. Of course it wasn't his campaign, it was one of his donors. Of course he didn't have anything, the dossier release was delayed until after he was eliminated from the nomination.
I'm going to venture that it was a group of scumbags that all got taken by this Steele creep. He probably solicited money from anybody he thought would like to see Trump go down, on both sides of the aisle. Hillary, Jeb, Marco, McVain and Romney are probably all on the list.
