Washington stands by to see which brand of Trumpism will carry the day in a Alabama's special election primary between Luther Strange and Roy Moore, a race that has become something of a proxy war for the Republican Party. The race pits the incumbent Strange, a relatively conventional Republican who was appointed to fill Jeff Sessionss vacated seat in February, against Moore, a religious firebrand who achieved notoriety through his uncompromising social stances as an Alabama judge. Well, we KNOW it certainly won’t be BILLY CRYSTAL’S version of ANYTHING!
Here’s why Alabama doesn’t want Luther Strange: http://www.freerepublic.com/~bodleiangirl/.
Basically Trump endorsed them both at the Luther Strange rally
So with all this regarding Strange, why is Trump for Strange?
I just don’t understand it.
I strongly suspect that McConnell promised President Trump a *lot* to endorse Strange.
McConnell must be pretty intimidated right now. Senator Bob Corker (TN), another one of his allies just announced that he is not running for reelection.
Flake (AZ) is pretty much doomed, and Menendez (NJ) seat is likely to flip, which even if it goes to a RINO will still dilute the RINO power in the senate. Susan Collins (ME) has suggested leaving the senate to run for governor. Heller (NV) is at risk for being primaried.
And there are several more. The omens point to several Republican and conservative pickups. And this points away from RINOs continuing to control the leadership.
Trump is sorta pretending to go along with the RINO's.
