But in the frenzied blame game over the deadly violence at a rally of white supremacists, Donald Trump's loyal base is happy to absolve the president himself.
Even as Trump's zig-zag response to the weekend bloodshed in Charlottesville, Virginia, has brought criticism from some Republican lawmakers, many men and women who helped put him in office remain unmoved by the latest uproar.
"He has done nothing to turn me away from him," said Patricia Aleeyah Robinson, of Toledo, Ohio.
Robinson is black and her support of Trump has put her at odds with many in her life, costing her friendships and straining family relationships.....

It doesn’t matter what Trump says or does, the media/progressives/anti-trumpers/race baiters/etc. will never even give him an inch even when he’s right most of the time.
We know this. It hasn’t worked in the past and it sure as hell won’t work now in our current environment. It’s time to fight back. This is why he won. The non stop Trump bashing by the media works on those who didn’t really support him anyway. It’s not changing the minds of those of us who supported and continue to support him.
He was “done” so many times according to the liberal and conservative media since his first announcement to run for POTUS and he still won the Primary and General.
He wasn’t “done” then and he isn’t “done” now and I am grateful he isn’t listening to all these armchair quarterbacks.

you’re correct because he initially came out and gave a statement that was harsh against the marchers but the media still complained about it.
I agree with you completely.
You are so right. His list of accomplishments is spectacular.
The problem is, his uncontrolled comments and tweets push these accomplishments to the back of people’s minds, and occurrences such as the Charlottesville-related remarks are driven to the front of their thought processes.
Charlottesville was an unforced error, a big one.
It is my prayer that he continues his very much needed achievements, and stops the reputation-destroying asides.
