he must really owe Kristol something to flip like this...
To: ErikJohnsky
Will French even do it is the question? He’ll get some die hard #NeverTrump loons from Twitter, but who else? There is no way he can win. I doubt he can win a single state.

definitely; I wonder if he and Kristol ever played with this http://www.270towin.com/maps/three-way-electoral-map for David French, indistinguished National Review writer to get close to 270. But this article exposes the lunacy behind Kristol.
Sad because I used to like the guy.

There is no way he can win. The goal is not to win. The goal is to take enough votes from Trump to give the election to Hillary.
It's all about protecting the Establishment.

The strategy is not to win. It is simply to leach just enough votes from Trump to ensure he does not win. To French, Kristol and the people at Red State, ensuring that Trump does not win trumps the implications of Hillary winning. They do not even care about the implications of a Hillary win on the SCOTUS and such issues - it is simply about Trump not winning.
The failure of the GOP-e not winning (on the likes of Kristol, the Bushes, Romney), and of Cruz not winning (on the likes of French and the posters at Red State), fried some of their circuitry or something akin to that. Some of them have even said the risk of a Trump presidency is greater than that of a Hillary presidency, and that Conservatism would survive better under a Hillary adminstration. It is quite sad to see people lose it that much.

David French is a nobody. Even if somehow he manages to cobble together enough resources to run a bare bones campaign and get on a couple state ballots he won’t be able to pull enough votes to even be a factor.

On the bright side, he may run Kristol afoul of election laws should the Weekly Standard become a mouthpiece for that campaign.

Will French even do it is the question? Hell get some die hard #NeverTrump loons from Twitter, but who else? There is no way he can win. I doubt he can win a single state. Not if he's smart. recent stories about he and his wife having strong ties with Romney (who Kristol left out of his latest attempt to seat Hillary) and his credibility would be about zero - would be a distraction to his actual career at best and possibly ruin it unless he wished to deal only in the behalf of Leftists - would have to be able to abide a lot of slime.

If Kristol had any intellectual honesty, he would register his activity as a pro-Hillary 527 political outfit. But Kristol is a dishonest spoiled brat.

Conservatism has been hijacked by a professional conservative class that makes a living by selling the word while losing all the important conservative issues. Their power and money is threatened for their abject failures. Trump gives conservatism a fighting chance to come back to the American people, and he does not belong to their groups.

So true — a professional conservative class.
I have posted in other threads that ‘conservative/conservatism’ has become a litmus word. Pols must use it to get elected. Once they get to DC, they can turn ‘moderate’.
The variant ‘conservative’ groups have watered down the intent and meaning. Romney was ‘severely’. GWBush was ‘compassionate’. JBush was ‘reform’.
Each defined/defines his own brand and labels it ‘conservative’ to win the election.

I caught on to this back when Romney was the nominee in 2012. Turned off the whole con artists net work, milking a fake 'conservative' ideology. Laziest bunch of people on God's green earth.

And there are still some who will claim that Rush talking, has done more for 'conservatism' than any other living being.
