The libs want her to win so they can ‘legitimately’ slide Joe Biden in when she is perp-walked. If Bernie keeps on winning, it will foil all their plans for a ‘smooth’ transition. This is why they are so down on Bernie right now.

She won’t quit now as it would give the nomination to Sanders. Afterword, maybe. In both, not giving it to Sanders would cause civil war in the party.

The only way this horrible woman would ever see justice is if Trump becomes president. Individuals who threaten the Clintons’ place at the trough, have a funny way of ending up hurt or worse. Usually, worse. This can’t end well for somebody.

Personally I expect a final decision on Hillary’s fate will be made by Obama just prior to the Dem Convention. I expect the FBI will not release a report or make any recommendations to indict or not indict until that short period of time.

I expect Obama to make his decision based on a simple political question: Can Hillary win? If he believes she can withstand the publicity from the leaks that are certain to flow from disgruntled FBI sources and still win he will stick with her. In that case there will be no report. There will be no recommendations. There will be no indictmemens.

But if Obama concludes she will lose then I expect him to turn the FBI and the Justice Department loose. The Superdelegates will freely choose to vote for NotHillary and the nomination will go to Bernie or Biden or some other Obama flunky.

You read it here first. Or maybe second or third.

As far as I know, the DNC can substitute. Shriver replaced Eagleton in 1972.

It may require the candidate to actually withdraw.

Now states have filing deadlines....I want to say the earliest ones are early September?

Also, electors could agree to vote for a particular candidate.

I was thinking 1872 - Horace Greeley died. Most electors voted B. Gratz Brown, the VP candidate, for President.
Luckily it was inconsequential.

IIRC, there was a 50 day window prior to the election where a new candidate could not be inserted. This was an issue w/Torricelli race, but that was senatorial. Some smart Freeper will answer this.

I was going to read the article to the end. Then I saw the name Karl Rove and I clicked off. I had no reason to read any further.

Go to jail. Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go, do not collect presidency.

“What if Clinton were indicted, post-DNC?”

Seems to me the BIG issue would be if said indictment comes after it’s too late to get on the ballot in all 57 states.

They will nominate her and then she’ll drop out - medical reasons for Bill. That will take care of the Sanders situation and will open the door for a Biden/Warren ticket.

For the good of the country, a post-convention indictment is preferable. For sheer entertainment, nothing would beat an indictment near the end of the convention. Imagine the absolute chaos, vicious backstabbing politics, outraged Sandenistas, and club-swinging riots on the convention floor. Networks should have Jerry Springer on call.

If she were indicted after the Convention and had to withdraw, I think the rules are that the Democrat National Committee picks the replacement, same as the RNC would in a similar situation.

They’ll all be indicted at the great white throne judgment. And their eternal destiny will not be a fun one.

Obama will indict her after the convention and when there is no time left to put another candidate forward. He will then claim that the election is illegitimate because the Democrats had no candidate. He will remain in office.

They will run her and blame the vast right wing conspiracy

Even if convicted she wouldn’t necessarily do jail time

If Hillary is indicted, the DNC will replace her with NY Senator Kristin Gillibrand and Gillibrand will win. This is “Plan A” if you ask me, because Hillary cannot win, whether she is indicted or not.

The DNC is not in this thing to lose. Republicans are content to lose with class. The Democrats... not so much.

Thus my tag-line.

“She says that in retrospect, she made a mistake but violated no laws....”

She just broke some “rules”. Same as Julius and Ethel Rosenberg did.
