JUDY WOODRUFF: With eight days to go until vote-rich New York weighs in on the high-stakes contests for the Republican and Democratic nominations for president, candidates stepped up their criticisms of each other and made their best cases for more delegates today, the perfect moment to turn to Politics Monday with Tamara Keith of NPR, and Amy Walter of The Cook Political Report.
And we welcome both of you.
So, as we said, no voting this week, but delegate selection goes on. And were hearing a lot of complaining, Amy, from Donald Trump. We just heard him saying the process is crooked.
What is Ted Cruz doing Donald Trump isnt?
AMY WALTER, The Cook Political Report: Right.
There is a process, and it involves rules, and Donald Trump seems to have forgotten that rules actually have been set a long time ago. But heres the two. There are two ways to win the nomination as a Republican. You either come into the convention with 1,237 delegates that is where Trump is ahead and where he could there is still a conceivable path for him to do this by the time we hit June, tough, but conceivable.
Then there is winning the convention at the floor, winning by what were calling a contested convention. Thats where Ted Cruz is doing better. What Ted Cruz is doing is, he understands the rules and the nuances of how the game is played. And that is, when you win a state, you win more than just the votes, you win actual human beings, delegates that go and vote on the floor....

One state out of 50 does not give us delegates loyal to voters or candidates more than the GOPe.
This won’t take days. Both Trump and Cruz will already have deals/plans in place for the second ballot should no one make it to 1237.
That’s kind of the point. State parties can be taken over much easier than the DC party. It is the state parties that elect RNC members, three to a state. Small states are the equal of large states, and can be taken over by conservatives much more easily than trying to bully the DC crowd. Hard work isn’t as romantic as a man on a white horse, but hard work, being polite, and persistence gets things done your way.
I see no reason for Trump to help Cruz and keep Rule 40 around. Cruz’s anti Trump GOPe support evaporates the moment there is no Rule 40.
There are no Marxists. They are fascists according to the historic definition.

And the Obama/Hillery liberal-fascists and the Islamofascists are working together to usurp the Constitution of the United States.
The GOP has been bought off large, the buy off has been institutionalized as an intergenerational gravy train for elite GOP’s political class, and thats what “Stop Trump” is all about: ensuring that the gravy train set up by Obama to continually buy out the GOP continues.Cruz is complicit iin that effort, why do you think Srah Palin did not endorse Cruz? She learned about Cruz after she helped get him elected to the Senate.
Donald Trump will stop them absolutely. :-)
VOTE THE DONALD!
