there will be a second ballot, and Cruz will win
Not in a million years. You clearly don’t know a thing about this Republican Party. If Trump doesn’t win on the first ballot, get used to saying “President Ryan.”
If Trump is denied, “Madam President” will be the preferred address.
You need to read it again. You left out the part about Hillary winning. Here it is again. You still owe him an apology.
“Donald Trump is the most hated of all modern potential presidential candidates. When he goes down in the general election, he will take senators, representatives, conservatism and the country down with him. Hillary will nominate three or four leftist Justices who will finish us off in those areas that the Democrats themselves don’t get around to. The military will be virtually extinguished, the debt will strangle the economy, our enemies will attack from without and from with in.”
Well, no. I said, to him, that he was an unhinged Trump-hater. His posts reflects that.
Chicken Little rides again.
I took offense because of the history that shows lots of people who were trailing in the spring polls before a November election, and amongst noteworthy cases was that of Reagan.
You know that is true, yet you protest, and now insist I bring you data.
Sometimes I shudder at how someone who was once considered to have an honest, bright conservative intellect could have become so tainted.
Most of us here can see why, and it's really sad.
And you won’t admit you read his post incorrectly? You must be one of those poorly educated Trump voters.
Cruz has often under-polled this year, so he may be actually 15 or 20% ahead.
And you "know" this how?
The military will be virtually extinguished, the debt will strangle the economy, our enemies will attack from without and from with in. All of this for a misguided infatuation with a reality television, beauty contestant entrepreneur, a prize fighting promoter, a titty bar owner, a bankrupt gambling casino magnate, a grifter of vulnerable students and nutrition minded suckers, a brutal landlord, a deceiver of customers, a bully, a misogynist, a serial liar, a mountebank and a man thoroughly unworthy of the highest office in the world.
Ok, let’s look at these two sentences being required:
The first one is an accurate and well written account of what would happen if by selecting a weak nominee, the Republicans deliver the presidency to a Democrat.
The second sentence is utterly wrong, because it implies that the weak nominee assuring the Democrat win would be Trump, rather than Cruz, and then goes on to describe Trump in terms that are far from reasonable.
I think it’s high time Trump haters and Cruz supporters acknowledge there is some validity behind the massive support for Donald Trump, and also some merit to the belief that Cruz’s narrow appeal would not fare so well in the general election.
If only for the sake of humility and mutual respect, could we at least allow the possibility that Trump supporters may not be the ignorant, infatuated, hate filled fools that we keep being described as?
I think a truly reasoned, well thought out discussion between Trump supporters and Cruz supporters would be rooted in at least a bare minimum of mutual respect.
Incorrect. The poll covered all statewide elections - Dem & GOP. If you meant that the GOP primary poll only included likely Republican voters, you would also be incorrect. The pollster included both independents and crossover Dems who will likely vote in the GOP primary.
20k Dems have switched over to GOP in PA. All voting for Trump.
Oops “required” = “quoted” - damn autocorrect
“And you wont admit you read his post incorrectly?”
Yes, I admit I read it distractedly and incorrectly, at least that part.
“You must be one of those poorly educated Trump voters.”
No, but you ARE one of those Cruz-bot ass holes.
Cruz bravely stood up for the Texas Oil Cartel.
Nobody on FR smokes weed.
The GOP would rather be rulers in hell than be just another person in heaven. They’d rather be the 1% in hell than not a member of the Elite in heaven or earth.
I sure as hell would if my wife liked it
I smoked bigtime once
It’s better than the plague of alcohol
Reality is Freepers who smoke pot are scared to admit it
Deliberately ignorant-—they won’t even spend a minute to TRY to learn things about the issues and their candidate.
I guess WI voters aren’t impressed by an emotionally-brittle elderly liberal New Yorker who knows almost nothing about the issues.
It’s so refreshing to see someone who GETS it. Thank you for your post.
