U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman, a Republican from the Town of Glenbeulah in Sheboygan County, announced Friday that he has endorsed U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in the Republican presidential race.
"I think Ted Cruz is the one," Grothman said during an interview with Charlie Sykes on WTMJ (AM-620). .
Grothman said the Texas Senator "has the track record in the Senate. You know he's going to put a stop to this huge amount of illegal immigration in this country."
"He stands up to the idea, he's not for anchor babies," Grothman said. "Some people don't like that phrase but the idea of saying a single mom can jump over here have a baby and they're an American citizen is ridiculous. And that shows he'll take immigration seriously."
Grothman also lauded Cruz's legal credentials as well as his position on limiting government spending,
Grothman had harsh words for GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
"You look at Trump University," Grothman said. "I mean, my goodness....

For more than three months, I have watched Trump supporters engage in a vicious character assassination campaign against Sen. Cruz. As someone who has been on this website for more than a decade I am disgusted and angered by the dirty tactics and cheap stunts pulled by Trump supporters here — from the Iowa attacks on Cruz for circulating CNN reports about Ben Carson’s reported post-Iowa election actions to what happened today.
In one of the more disgraceful acts I have ever seen, a Trump supporter (drewh) attempted to publish a rumor-filled sleaze report from an Internet rag called The Political Insider that accuses Sen. Cruz of adultery and an affair with someone affiliated with Trump’s campaign, Katrina Pierson. THIS IS PURE SLEAZE AND TRASH — and I would suggest you Trump supporters KNOCK OFF THE CRAPOLA you’ve been pulling here. IF ONE OF YOU CAN PROVE THAT SEN. CRUZ HAD AN AFFAIR, PROVE IT. It is hypocrisy of the highest order for any Trump supporter to even open his/her mouth about Sen. Cruz’s marriage or family.

Right now, it looks like Trump will be the nominee for the GOP. I expect I will not vote in a presidential election for the first time in my life. I despise your candidate — and the more I see of Trump’s supporters on this website — uncritical devotion, vicious attacks on Sen. Cruz — the more, I want to work to stop Trump.
I feel the same way about Cruz and Cruz supporters. I bought his book ironically titled “A Time For Truth” and the idea he was “the only principled candidate in the race”. Then he went gutter with Jeff Roe in IA and told many lies, half truths, and misrepresentations. Ted assassinated his own character.

No Way... Glenn is an excellent representative. He just got elected in ‘14. Have known him and helped him campaign for 20 years. If you ever wanted a conservative, it’s Glenn Grothman.
I prefer Trump, but was for Cruz until the GOPe started circling the wagons. Cruz knows that the establishment will dump him like yesterday’s garbage. I’ll give Glenn a pass on this one. He’s a great guy and on “our side”.
