COLUMBIA -- Contention in the Republican presidential contest ticked up a notch Wednesday when Sen. Ted Cruz responded to a cease-and-desist request from Donald Trump's camp asking him to stop playing an advertisement by saying, "file the lawsuit."
Cruz told reporters in the morning that the letter accused his campaign of misleading the public in a TV ad that includes footage of Trump saying he is "very pro-choice."
"The letter said this attack ad, as they called it, is not only completely disingenuous but replete with lies, false defamatory and destructive statements and downright fabrications," he said, according to a CNN video.
Cruz said the letter threatened to sue him if the campaign doesn't remove the ad....

The ad uses video of Trump talking about his support of Partial Birth Abortion.
Since when is using your own words a cause of action?
Cruz learned from Ted - Double Down!!
Should be interesting to see how Trump likes his medicine.
What’s the difference between saying he’s not qualified or he’s suspending his campaign.
Go Ted, make the bloviator put up or shut up.
You know you’ve got ‘em when they squeal like a stuck pig.
Double Down.
One of Trump’s weaknesses is the way he reacts to these type of attacks. Unfortunately, Cruz wouldn’t be still pulling stuff that makes him like he is sleazy if he didn’t know that his campaign is on the ropes. It is a pretty desperate move.
Don’t think the courts will look too favorably on The Donald’s worry here since it is a political contest and lying about one opponent is taken for granted and has been common since day one. Teddy Bear had better look to his NBC problem.
Trump needs to focus on immigration — and point out how if Cruz really gave a damn about the issue, then why did he not mention it EVEN ONCE in his campaign announcement speech last year.
Why not, cruz has absolutely nothing left to lose at this point.
Send the IRS after them!
Trump talks the talk, he needs to walk the walk. Maybe he’s just 98% hot air, which his supporters should think about when he talks on other issues like immigration.
Meant to say...
Cruz learned from Trump.
The ‘Cruznocchio’ pic just shows that while Cruz supporters learn to use their brains, Trump supporters learn to use Photoshop. Next time try an actual argument rather than just calling names. Makes you look like a Democrat.
Maybe this is the part where we discover ‘The Donald’ is a lot of bark and very little bite. He loves to threaten, but his record isn’t very good when people actually stand up to him and aren’t as intimidated as he’d hoped.
