COLUMBIA -- Contention in the Republican presidential contest ticked up a notch Wednesday when Sen. Ted Cruz responded to a cease-and-desist request from Donald Trump's camp asking him to stop playing an advertisement by saying, "file the lawsuit."

Cruz told reporters in the morning that the letter accused his campaign of misleading the public in a TV ad that includes footage of Trump saying he is "very pro-choice."

"The letter said this attack ad, as they called it, is not only completely disingenuous but replete with lies, false defamatory and destructive statements and downright fabrications," he said, according to a CNN video.

Cruz said the letter threatened to sue him if the campaign doesn't remove the ad....

I doubt these are serious threats.

Ted is really pushing Donald Trump, in your face type, with out and out lies. No wonder, Beck has told him he’s golden, God even killed a Supreme Justice for him.

Since he has it on such good authority that he can walk on water, he’s going to go full out.

Such brave, wise, presidential material/s

Maybe Ted should waste another day or two talking about Trump? That would surely help!

You forgot to mention the segment where he said. "I'm not only pro-choice, but I am very pro-choice"

Did you miss that part?

Trump should make a commercial of Cruz before congress calling for FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND additional H1B visas and uncapping all H1B visas for workers from India, China and Mexico. Or Heidi Cruz leading the Council On Foreign Relations to prepare a “North American Union,” removing all borders and uniting the US, CA and MX. Of course, if FR posters don’t understand or don’t care to understand the significance of this on our nation, I guess the general public would be no different.

When Trump decides the timing and location are right for the eligibility lawsuit... he can now say that Cruz asked for it. He will also satisfy all the people here asking for him to bring it on.

I am sure that Trump’s team of lawyers is very carefully considering the location to make sure that they will have the highest probability of being assigned a judge that will hear the case and that the appeal will be heard by in a Federal District where they will receive a panel of three judges who will be the least sympathetic to Cruz.

You can thank the Senate for approving over 300 Federal judges hand picked by the Obama administration for increasing the probability that two of the three judges on the panel will give Ted the Thumbs down if Trump’s lawyers give them any justification that sounds reasonable in the initial trial.

From there it will be appealed to the Supreme Court which will most likely now refuse to hear the case or be deadlocked now with four conservatives vs. four liberal justices after Justice Scalia’s untimely departure. Either way Cruz’s fate will be in the hands of two liberal judges from the federal circuit wherever the Trump team decides to file... most likely somewhere in the 9th Circuit.

Even if the process takes a while, the doubt created in voter’s minds by a real eligibility lawsuit being heard by a real judge will be damaging to the Cruz campaign. Will the media try to come to Cruz’s defense like they did with Obama? Don’t make me laugh. Would it have been attempted before the death of Scalia? No.

#14 Nice try Trumbie. However when Donnie was stuffing money in Hillarys, harry Reid and chuck schumers pockets Ted was talking about it when he ran for the Senate .

The Mouth’s contribution at the time? Criticizing Mitt’s immigration plan as mean!

Post #13 sums up the Trumpertantrum nicely.

Good for Cruz. Best way to deal with a bully is to stand up to him.

Strongly disagree. Trump will never file a suit on Cruz. He has been pushing Cruz to deal with this himself, but he won’t launch a suit on this. Won’t need to.

If Cruz really gave a damn about the issue, then why did he not mention it EVEN ONCE in his campaign announcement speech last year.

Your statement is flat out wrong.
