If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.
Trump/A Younger Version of Trump
(Trump is a leader, top-slot. He would NEVER agree to VP!)
One of many conservative things Trump has done is support our vets. There was a story here this week about Trump’s successful attempt to help a vet overcome some problems he had with the VA.
Ted Cruz.
Can you point out any instances of Cruz voting for any of the Won’s positions?
Hey, you said Trump at post 3, and again at post 14. We’re not Democrats, we don’t vote twice.
Cruz Palin
Santorum. I assume he’ll be out by the time I really vote, though, so at that time it’ll be Cruz.
The issue is that Trump has a lifelong history of supporting liberals, RINOs and statist approaches to government...up until 6 months ago. Cruz has a lifelong history of being a conservative and supporting and defending the Constitution. Trump wouldn’t know the Constitution if it walked up and slapped him in the face.
So, no, I won’t keep asking. If a person cannot identify why someone is a conservative other than “cuz he says so!” ...And he has a long history of not being one...well perhaps that same person should try and distance themselves from their emotional obamatron reaction.
I’ve searched this entire thread and can’t find one measly vote for linda grahamnesty. Yippee!
Trump/Cruz
Well cheer up The Donald is likely to pick Ted Cruz for VP so everybody will be happy. :-)
My 2nd choice would be Trump. He's no conservative or libertarian. But he is blowing up the system, and I love that. Dude isn't really owned by anybody as far as I can tell.
But barring something unforeseen, I'm going to go caucus for Ted Cruz. Like Trump, all the right people hate him. That is reason enough to vote for him. He may be a shade conservative for me, but he has enough positions that I agree with him on, and that are important to me, that I am ready to go spend a night at the school gym caucusing for the guy.
First choice is Ted Cruz.
I can live with Trump.
All others will cause me to write in and drop party affiliation
If voting today I would like to vote Trump Cruz as in my tag line. We need someone with the $ (independence) and nougats to clean up the oligarchy and return the country back to the People. Thereafter, in 4 or 8 years, we could have President Cruz represent us and demonstrate what a President should do, and show what a President must not overstep to do.
Yup!
1. Cruz - Far and away my top choice
2. Trump - Saying the right things but I’m not confident of his sincerity. Even so, saying the right things is more than what most of rest are doing.
The UN should be dissolved and the building turned into a prison?
Sure...I wasn’t crazy about the TPA, TPP votes.
See..I can answer a question. Now your turn. What has Trump ever DONE, not just run his mouth about, that shows he has a sincerely held conservative belief?
Hmmmm ..?? speakers are not chosen by the President; they are only elected by the members of the House or Senate.
All we can do is make a big stink .. like we did with Boehner .. and then we still got Ryan.
As a vet, I can say, big deal....Democrats do the same thing every time they need our votes...I don’t believe that’s a sincerely held conservative belief...but I will grant that’s my opinion....thank you for an honest answer. Surely that’s not sufficient for choosing a president though is it?
