I have a weird proposition for you today. Consider this Halloween-related.
If you had to choose between Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Ted Cruz as the next president, which one would you pick and why?
If you're a very conservative Republican, this may not be such a daunting prospect. If you're a moderate of either party or someone on the farther left, you're more likely to be appalled.
But in the wake of a debate in which Cruz emerged as an increasingly popular candidate in the crowded GOP field, and in which Trump and Carson remain the front-runners, I think it's a reasonable question. None of the Above is not an option in this case.....

Oh no, see, after Trump’s wishy-washy debate answer where he appeared to be all for the foreigners coming to school here provided they (1) came legally and (2) got jobs here so their talent would be used for our economical purposes and not the country they came from (this sure does sound like being pro-H1B Visa stuff), he came out with this the next day!:
So see, all is right in the world of a Trump supporter. When Trump says something contradictory, he just changes it. Nevermind the fact Trump didn’t bother to read his own policy paper regarding his comments on Zukerberg.
You know, I think it’s funny that people bitching about H1-B’s would pretend and say they are against affirmative action, but that’s exactly what they’re advocating here. They want the Federal Government to FORCE businesses to hire someone over someone else based on some physical characteristic.
I think businesses should have a right to hire whomever the hell they want. If people are upset at the fact that these companies are hiring cheap labor from overseas, then let’s start asking why? Could it have something to do with the burdensome regulations, Union thugs, Obamacare, and other expenses that drive the cost of hiring an American worker to unprofitable heights?
Here’s a thought. How about getting the economy under control by cutting taxes across the board, eliminating the bogus regs and burdensome policies like Obamacare that make it more profitable and viable for a company to hire an American worker rather than looking overseas? You do that, and nobody will give a damn about the number of H1-B’s coming in because there will be plenty of jobs for all in an a free market economy that thrives free from the hands of the Federal Government.
Things don’t happen in a bubble. I believe Cruz’s support of H1-B increases is in part attached to a larger vision where the economy is functioning at a healthy level due to the elimination of the burdensome factors listed above.
Yes, I do mean John Roberts and Souder. Trump is is a celebrity and has used his status to fool good conservatives. Cruz is the real deal ... The best I’ve seen in decades.
Well, somebody should be fond of it. I'm starting to think that you and I are a distinct minority, not only in the country as a whole but in our own party.
So it appears.
Because I'm a conservative.
Look, if you don't like Cruz, that's OK. But find a better reason, won't you?
Yes, the supreme court has ruled on this issue.
The Supreme Court of the United States has never applied the term natural born citizen to any other category than those born in the country of parents who are citizens thereof.
The Constitution, Vattel, and Natural Born Citizen: What Our Framers Knew
Citizenship Terms Used in the U.S. Constitution - The 5 Terms Defined & Some Legal Reference to Same
"The citizenship of no man could be previous to the declaration of independence, and, as a natural right, belongs to none but those who have been born of citizens since the 4th of July, 1776."....David Ramsay, 1789.
Well, he’ll be in the same position that Obama was in. There will be some people who are opposed to Cruz’s candidacy and they will try to construct an argument that he is not eligible. They will talk about Vattel and sound like they’re from outer space. They will write books and make money off of persons who dislike Cruz for other reasons. No one else will think that the arguments make any sense and Cruz will lose zero votes because of the issue. In fact, like Obama, he may benefit from the issue because these crackpot arguments will marginalize his opponents in the eyes of voters who like what Cruz has to say.
You didn’t read the links, did you, ladyellen. CRUZ was John Roberts’ champion. Roberts turned around- stabbing America in the back, & twisted 0bamacare so that it would be upheld AND gave us gay marriage, among other sops.
If you- or anyone, believes that Cruz is “the real deal”, then it can only be because you willfully close your eyes to the facts of what he does & has done.
Ronald Reagan was also a “celebrity”.
I wouldn't trust Trump as far as I could throw him. He went on MSNBC in July of this year and said some of his stances are those of a Democrat. And I'm supposed to support him? LOL, never happening.
You have to understand conservatism to pick the right Supreme Court justice. It requires sniffing them out. Only Cruz can be trusted to do that. Trump is a new “student” to many planks of conservatism and not very enthusiastic about the social issues which is where judges have had some of the worst results. Carson is simply not smart about how government and the courts work. Only Cruz can be absolutely trusted to pick true conservative judges.
Hillary Clinton can’t win a general election.
Recent polls have already shown all 3 of these candidates beating Hillary.
Next!
Cruz has a far better chance of winning the general election than Trump. Trump’s likability and trustworthiness poll worse than all the other leading GOP candidates and as bad or worse than Hillary’s. He is also far more likely to make gaffes or offensive statements that the media can repeat over and over. There is already enough of that material from Trump out there for the Dems to splice into negative ads targeted to just about any demographic group they want (women, Hispanics, Christians, veterans, etc.). Cruz does not have endless videos of himself out there making potentially offensive comments.
Y’all are just itching for a fight. Haranguing people into silence isn’t a “win”.
Have a nice day. If you can.
Where’s your proof?
Next!
“Ronald Reagan was also a “celebrity”.”
Yes, and Reagan used that celebrity as a springboard to a long career in public service, from decades of political activism to serving two terms as governor of one of the largest states in the nation, before he ran for President.
For which conservative candidates has Trump stumped on the trail? Which conservative causes has he made his own, traveling the country to support? Reagan did all that and more, and if you’re going to invoke the Gipper to bolster Donald, then you’d better have examples.
Being a “celebrity” by itself is not the issue. Being *only* a celebrity is.
Trump’s “celebrity” is completely beside the fact. That is only good for name recognition to people *who actually watch tv & follow “celebrities”*.
It’s his business skills (efficiency, budgets, negotiation- his INTEGRITY) that are his strongest assets.
Why does Trump need to “stump” for any other candidate? He isn’t a Washington insider. His financial support isn’t enough? The things he’s written in his books & expressed in interviews *for close to 30 years* isn’’t enough?
You Cruz backers just throw out one thing after another & try to create confusion & contention whenever anyone addresses a “point” y’all try to make. You remind me of the Pharisees & the Sadducees trying to entrap Jesus. This looks more like the tactics of the devil to me than people trying to serve the Lord. This is dishonest.
Trump because he will win it.
He must think that hover at 6% is actually 60%. LOL
You apparently have not been paying attention. The liberals didn't care about birth certificates but we do. All they have to do is mention Cruz and call us hypocrites. The Democrats will use doubt and guilt according to the Alinsky playbook.
Of course I would vote for Ted Cruz if he is nominated but that will not matter. He would join the ranks of Dole, McCain and Romney.
