Ted Cruz is called the pit bull in Congress because he relentlessly sinks his teeth into battles that he is passionate about such as defunding Planned Parenthood and defeating the Iran Nuclear Deal. He has no fear in calling out fellow Congressional leaders who support the status quo over the will or well-being of the people-even if he is alone. Cruz staunchly supports the Constitution and calls out those who circumvent it, all the way to the White House. He stands strong in his Christian faith and is not shy about sharing his testimony. All-in-all a perfect candidate.
However, if you look at the polls and Cruz's debate performances, you may not agree with that analysis. Wednesday the National Review asked the question many are thinking, "Wheres Ted Cruz?" Cruz is running at about 6 percent nationally, including key states such as Iowa and New Hampshire - well behind outsiders Donald Trump, Carly Fiorina, and Ben Carson. Because of this, the press has mostly ignored him.
NR points out that it would be a huge mistake to underestimate Cruz. After all, back in August of 2013 he began meeting with Iowa activists to plan his path to presidential victory only nine months after he was elected to the Senate. According to some of his rival's strategists, Cruz may be one of the last men standing in this campaign....

Ted Cruz is the only presidential candidate willing to stick it to Obama and to shut the government down.
If the GOPe had followed Ted’s leadership and stood up to Obama we would not have Obamacare and illegal amnesty today.
Cruz, without a doubt, is the best and brightest of this bunch. In a sane world he would be out in front by 25% points.
I’ll tell you where Ted Cruz is - hiding in the grass waiting for Trump to fall so he can slither in and try to steal his supporters.
I think stomp is the better word than slither.
It’s so friggin early to be counting on a win for any candidate, including Trump.
We have seen this happen time and time again. All the early sprinters fade....the methodical plodders catchup and pass them by like the turtle and the hare story.
So no, don’t underestimate Cruz or over estimate Trump.
So predictable.
However, this is an unusual election cycle. One can throw all the former methods out the window. They aren’t going to work in 2016.
I’m very angry with Ted Cruz right now, so yes, I’m going to reference his remarks.
He’s not “allowed” to go after another candidates’ supporters? Sorry, politics doesn’t work that way.
I am taking that into account. Not all cycles obviously, are the same in all ways....This one has more outsiders, for example, and a woman outsider.
But all multicandidate open seat elections do have some common issues and that is what I wrote about.
They all do, but to openly admit he didn’t think Trump would get the nomination and that his supporters would go to him is beyond the pale. And, they call Trump egotistical.
So you’ve never been involved in a campaign?
Let me guess....Trumpster?
I really don’t want to burst your bubble, but the closer we get to the first primaries, the attacks on the candidate in the lead will increase by a factor of 100. It will continue until the candidate loses ground and then the new leader steps into the crosshairs.
What Cruz said was not a attack, so he has not even started. Al he said was that he will win and that trumps supporters align well with his candidacy..
All true by the way...

Sorry, not this election cycle. That old method will not work in 2016. That isn’t what Cruz said - and you know it.
Ted Cruz on ego: Trump will not win the nomination and his supporters will come to me.
Hopefully his ego turns out correct.
That’s exactly what he said....
What would you expect him to say to answer that question?
That Trump will win?
That his supporters will go to trump?
Get a grip...
Since I am on the subject and I do try to avoid it. I was in a conversation today with another Freeper and we were reminiscing about another race for the whitehouse, one in which Rudy Giuliani was one of the candidates.
The battle got so heated here on FR that there was a purge of most if not all the Giuliani supporters. They were ejected, if you will....
So here we are, with another northeasterner candidate named Donald Trump. Both he and Rudy share many of the same traits, personality, and positions!
Now here is the irony....
Many of the same people who purged numerous freepers for supporting Rudy Giuliani appear to me to be supporting Trump, and without a smidgeon of understanding as to what occurred only a few years ago.
Anyway......as I was saying to someone else, cycles differ, names change, but politics is always the game and that does not change. Politics do not need to make sense. Frontrunners today can be losers tomorrow.
The only poll that counts is the one on election day.
