Juicy, but I dont know how scandalized we should be at learning that Boehner holds a view we all assumed he held in the first place. Next well find out that Mitch McConnell thinks Cruz is a jackass too.
This isnt the first time hes been accused of saying something privately to fundraisers that he wouldnt dare dream of saying publicly. Remember when he allegedly told a bunch of donor-class amnesty fans that he was hellbent on passing comprehensive immigration reform in 2014? Two months later Dave Brat upset Eric Cantor in their House primary by running hard against illegal immigration. Alas, the elusive dream of more cheap labor for corporate America had to be postponed again.
At a Steamboat Springs event for GOP Rep. Scott Tipton, the Ohio Republican quipped that he likes how Cruzs presidential campaign keeps that jackass out of Washington, and from telling Boehner how to do his job
I dont think its terribly speaker-like, and I think it kind of goes against everything that Reagan ever said about disparaging Republicans, said Ed MacArthur, the president of Native Excavating, who attended the fundraiser
Another Steamboat Springs resident confirmed Boehners remark: I about fell on the floor.
To build coalitions to work together in Washington, D.C., you dont start it out by calling your colleague a jackass, she said.
Turns out the GOP leadership hates grassroots favorites just as much as the grassroots hates the GOP leadership. Dare we assume that Boehner also holds Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh in low regard?
Two things here. One: Its going to be high-larious watching Boehner and McConnell react next spring if Ben Domenech and I are right and Ted Cruz emerges from the smoke as the GOPs nominee. I think Boehner could tolerate President Hillary just fine, but the reality of President Cruz might send him into retirement. If youre a Boehner-hater, theres another reason to back Cruz in the primaries. Two: Arguably the worst thing about this is its lack of strategic foresight, not the insult itself. An attack on Cruz from the seat of establishment power will only help him among populist voters. If this blows up in media, it may even galvanize conservative support in the House for another crack at Mark Meadowss resolution to remove Boehner as Speaker, a measure thatd be unlikely to succeed but could embarrass Boehner depending upon how many votes it draws. How is it worth taking a personal shot at Cruz when thats the price? No wonder this guy routinely gets rolled by Obama and Reid.
Trump/Cruz 2016: Because RINOs hate them!
I bet weepy doesn’t have the stones to tell Ted that to his face.
The Weeping Cheeto.
Have another drink, John.
I wish he would call me a jackass to my face
As they used to say in kindergarten, "It takes one to know one!" Truth, out of the mouth of babes!
He knows if either Trump or Cruz is elected, his days are numbered. McConnell’s, too.
Drunko Boeher, the heir apparent of drunko Ted Kennedy.
I like jackasses. They work hard and do not give in a the slightest hint of opposition. They are stubborn!
I think a better ticket will be Cruz/Fiorina 2016.
I'm really enjoying Trump sticking it to the establishment types, but I don't think he's really a conservative. Cruz is and has always been a conservative. Fiorina is a conservative and would bring a solid business background.
Fiorina has no business sense. The only thing that she brings to the table is that she’s a woman.
“Carly Fiorina as a boss: The disappointing truth
Shes running for President on her track record as CEO of HP, but if thats the case, Fiorina might want to rethink her strategy.
Fresh from strong debate quips, Carly Fiorina has improbably raced from 14th to fifth place in the New Hampshire Republican primary polls and now enjoys a 70% favorability rating in Iowa, ahead of such career politicians as Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, John Kasich, Rand Paul, Chris Christie, Rick Perry, George Pataki, and Lindsay Graham.
It is time to take her candidacy seriously and examine her leadership record. Having never held elected office, she has staked her reputation on her business career.
Fiorina is eager to be seen as the answer to Democratic slogans of a Republican war on women. Shes often been erroneously referred to as the first woman to lead a Fortune 500 firm, Hewlett-Packard HPQ 0.91% . That title actually belongs to The Washington Post Companys Katharine Graham. Then there are the many other trailblazing women leaders preceding Fiorina, including Beechcrafts Olive Ann Beech, Mattels Ruth Handler, Beatrice Foods Loida Nicolas-Lewis, the Body Shops Anita Roddick, Martha Stewart, and Oprah Winfrey.
Still, with a scant 5% of Fortune 500 firms employing women CEOs, her leadership of a huge global enterprise in the macho field of IT is impressive. But how did she do?
The answer in short is: Pretty badly

No she’s not. Keep digging.
Must’ve changed his brand of booze. I have a feeling that he’s a mean drunk. He should save his venom for the Demorats, not his own party members. But drunks do strange thinks, don’t they?
.
Boner is the true jackass.
.
He has raised the value of Ted’s stock massively by saying that.
